I found this on Lion King Pride.net

In the original plot for the lion king, Nala was going to have a brother named Mee-Too. The filmmakers deleted Mee-Too because he began to distract from the "Simba and Nala" relationship.

Also, Scar was originally going to be just a rogue lion not related to Simba. The filmmakers thought that the story would be more emotional and scary if Scar was related.

During the making of Lion king 2, there were no "outsiders", just Zira, Kovu, and the three hyenas. The filmmakers decided to delete the hyenas, because since Zira was Scar's mate, then why would she team up with the hyenas?

Disney then tried to cover up the fact that Kovu was Scar's son, because they were afraid of offending audiences (Kovu and Kiara being cousins). It is also suspected that the "We Are One" plotline carries a subtle racial message.

And Vitani's name in frist was Shetani, who means "devil" in Kiswahili, but they changet it.

Zira's name in fris was Bianca

They probably did for religious reasons or to make her name more likable

Yeah, and I have no earthly idea about the "cousins thing", because Bambi and Faline were cousins, and disney never had any of the bambi characters constantly repeat "ENA IS NOT BAMBI'S AUNT!!, ENA IS NOT BAMBI'S AUNT!!, ENA IS NOT BAMBI'S AUNT!!, exc..." (Ena is the name of Faline's mother.)

I actually read the Mee-Too was supposed to be Simba's brother. An earlier idea, perhaps?

Well the song we are one is suppose to be religious, so is the other songs, like he lives in you. If you haven't noticed, the lion king is based on Life and God. Whether its in the Lion king 1 or 2. Its like Mufasa is King, god, and his son Simba is Jesus. Scar is the devil, always creating diversions to get past god and all the people, trying to hurt them. Just like in that one scene where Simba and Mufasa are playing, Mufasa says "look at the stars, the great kings of the past, look down on us from those stars" "really?" "Yes, so whenever you feel alone, just remember, those kings will always be there to guide you and so will I" Also when Rafiki shows Simba the pond, they are trying to say, "he lives in you" Because God does live in you, you are him. So when Mufasa's ghost comes to talk to Simba, It's really God saying, if you don't know who you are, you've pretty much forgotten about me so I want you to come back and be king, make everything right and be who you really are. So in the end Simba fights the devil off and makes everything right.

I don't mean any offence to other religions or athiests out there but thats my opinion so...

Also, Zira was meant to commit suicide on the cliff, but they decided it was too dark and changed it to slipping down into the river.
