Yep another rant, man I am getting good at complaining, anyway, something that has angered me even since I first joined this forum. I would make a roleplay, then someone would join and we would start, maybe a day or two later, the other person would not post, I would think nothing of it and wait till later. A week later, no new post, so I would PM them about the roleplay, no reply, wait a few days, then ask in a PM, if they would post, no reply. Slightly annoyed, I make another roleplay, maybe a few days later, and the cycle continues. This happen a lot, and sometimes the other person has no problem updating their own roleplays, but not others, this has happened over five times, something has to be done. This is getting out of hand, roleplays are getting five posts, then left to die. Its swaming the roleplayings boards when it does not need to be. Its getting out of hand, big time, I feel so storngly about this, that I feel people should be punished if they abandon a certain amount of the roleplays so early on. The person I have mentioned in this rant who I have called "the other person" are a number of people, but one stands out in particular, though, unless you wish for me too, I will keep their identitiy secret, though the person in particular, needs to be straightened out.

There really isn't anything to do about it. Find out what people like, and crate a roleplay that appeals to them, then they will most likely stick with your roleplay. Besides, ranting doesn't really do anything except helping you to let out your frustration and anger. Otherwise, all people do is complain and don't do anything. I've made about 2 rants before, but then I stopped when I realized I was just whining. A lot of the main posters in this Rant Board should learn the same thing.

I don't RP here myself, but as I run an RP board based on my comic, I do know how annoying it can be when people post in a thread and then abandon it. But, as everyone has said so far, there is nothing you can do about it. Things happen in real life, people lose interest. Just start a new thread, or find one that is already active.

It annoys me too, but next time that person asks to join, why don't you just say no?

Yes, but if I did, there would be a lot of fuss, and the person would no doubt demand why, and if I tell them, a flame war will start, and if I do not, the person will probably demand an explination, and a flame war starts, isn't like fun?

I have never seen this, but I can imagine... my RP is on hold right now, and it was created in the mid of last year! Only, I think 5 posts have been made... it follows highly strict rules, but still... I see what you mean... I would post ery hard rules in there... you just need to not make them so loose... say that you need to apply, and then only some will be chosen to complete the RP, have a very effective plot, and make sure that the appliers are good RPers, not one-liners. The, only very serious people will consider, since the one-liners won't have the "Time" to take part in such an organized RP.

I'm afraid I'm one of those 'Other persons'. I often forget about the roleplay. Either that or I can tell it's not going to work. I can't see it something to get too upset about.. just create another roleplay, surely?

Not everyone lives on the computer full time after all.
