I see a few problems in the rant board.

1) Rules aren't enforced equally, at least not all the time. I don't blame the mods, they might not have time, whatever. I've experienced two cases in which I don't think rules were enforced equally, but I don't want to list specific names.

2) People rant but don't take action. Stop complaining and try to ask the mods to change something! Figure a way out. It's possible to help the situation. This includes myself.

3) The description. It says mods are supposed to help solve problems. Again, I don't blame the mods, but sometimes they just say they agree on a topic and add something to the discussion. It isn't all mods, just they need to help a little bit more.

4) Junk. This board has the most locked, non-rule-abiding topics. I'm not saying this can change. Just lock them and forgot them. I just hope soon enough people will realize how to post topics correctly.

Some mods I bet are flaming right now because I blamed them. Some people are going to say I'm a "newb". READ THIS before you insult me.

This has happened several times...So, here goes. I had my account deleted by Steet. The original name was "SilverWolf" not to be confused with silverwolf or others...I've been here for more than a year, actually.

I haven't been blaming moderators. Else why would I make a topic called "Mods (blah blah) topics are retarded" (supporting mods)? They do their jobs, period. They can't be on 24-7, so they might let something through once in a while.

Please, no insulting comments.

P.S. Sorry for the long-winded post. And also, I do recognize I'm a hypocrite, so that doesn't really insult me if you say that.

Yes, that is true, in fact that was one of my experiences. There is a topic called "Balto Source member _Angel_" that wasn't locked. I posted one about a specific person (though I now acknowlegde that it was rude, even though the person insulted me and didn't get the topic locked) and a mod said that I wasn't allowed to say specific names. I'm a bit confused.

Also, it seems famous members get more privelages than me for instance.

That is exactly how I feel!! It seems as if all of the more 'famous' members get more priveledges... I'm not trying to offend any of those 'famous' members, most of them are quite nice, but they do seem to get more priveledges than me...

I don't see much of a problem with this board. Some people just mistake the meaning of "rant" and go on to insult each other, flame other members for stupid reasons, etc.

It's a rant board; there are going to be topics like that. Hopefully, most of them will be locked.
And easy way to fix a topic that you BELIEVE should be locked (like the ones about certain members that were left open) is to PM it to a global forum moderator and tell them your opinion. It's that simple.

Exactly, what are they waiting for? god to throw a lighting and magically solve the problem? all they make are a bunch of whiny little topics complaining about every detail instead of getting up getting some guts and do something. I guess there should be another board named the "whining board" come here to sit cry about how much you hate the world and it's ok!! -sarcasm




Wow so it is a bunch of us who think like that. About the famous discrimation that is completele true, famous members get more priviledges thanks to mostly stupid people who then complain about the mods, some may be nice and not able to get rid of those priviledges but some just use them to manipulate people by using some stupid rant which ends up being nothing but propaganda. XD




Also true, but some people make that mistake intentionally(sp?) most of them are probably little 9 year old kids and then making topics of specific members should not be allowed; hello people that's what PMs are for



Hmm not really I've noticed a corruption of some mods going on, personally I can say that 100% clear because I have more than enough proof to prove it but my proof won't be heard thanks to that exact corruption, just because they're more than 1 surten member they think that they can get away with anything they want- idiots.
So if the case were exactly like you say it'd be easy if one honest person saw something bad in it and told an honest mod about it it'd be that easy.



Me neither, sadly some people don't understand that either they come here just to whine and end up doing nothing at all to solve the problem or they try to keep a fight they already had with some member.

I am only going to make this one post (and also apologize to every other member and mod for the flames this may CREATE). You, TikTac, are just going to have to get over the fact that the people who thought like you, on that issue (which you are vaguely alluding to), are in the minority. That 115-post comment record on steet's news item that week proved it.

And, really...don't come back with "I wasn't talking about YOU, BaltoSeppala, so just lay off me". It's so freakin' obvious WHOM you are referring to, that you said plenty without saying it.

It's time to move on. I acted benevolently, and attacked NO ONE. I simply left. I STILL have not attacked anyone. And yet, your attacks (be they subtle or not) just go right on...demonstrating the lack of maturity and bitterness of a 13 year old who didn't get her way, can't figure out how to deal with it, and can't face it with dignity and maturity. Tsk. And I am now compelled to respond...because I am sick of having to read this unrepentant whining and twisting of the facts, and subtle digs by a bitter KID. So you make up this fantasy about how the mods side with a few popular members and grant them special priviledges. How ridiculous is that?

Just DEAL...and stop the attempts at trying to initiate another flame war. Or move on. And for the love of GOD, stop acting like a bratty little two year old who got her favorite toy taken away.

TO THE REST OF YOU:

You people are unbelievable! The mods do NOT play favorites. Certainly not anymore. Steet has some pretty tight reins upon them, and the ones who ARE doing their duties on an active basis work hard to keep the peace. Just because YOU might not like the outcome of a decision (by any mod OR steet himself) doesn't justify some bratty claim that there are certain select members who have special privileges or dispensation because of popularity or whatever. I once thought that myself too. But I have seen that it is entirely untrue...even if there is still some doubts in my mind of how things went earlier in the year...and even despite that, I have no PROOF, and neither do any of you about any other incident.

So freakin' GROW UP and learn to deal with living within the rules of a MODERATED site. The mods, and steet, have to make decisions every day based upon their own best judgement calls, and what they can determine to be the facts. Maybe they're not always perfect, and mistakes are sometimes made. But these claims of favoritism by ANY mod are offensive. PFFT.

Why don't you, instead of showing EVERYONE how immature YOU'RE acting on what someone YOUNGER than you said, take it to a PM? No one gives a rat's tail about your problems with a teenager.

Yes. I agree with those! Especialy the 2nd one. I'm a huge hypocrite, too, though, so I'm not one to talk.
About the third one.. I always try to help, but there are some topics I won't post in here just because if it becomes a huge flame thing (like some have) I don't want to get involved. >_> But that's no excuse for that from me..

Privileges? At least, not from me. It has already happens a few times that I have bashed the mods for doing something they shouldn't have done...
