$200? That's nothing! In the paper and on the classified pet websites, they sell mastiffs, cane corsos and sharpeis for $1500! No lie! It really does piss me off..

My moms friend had a cockerspaniel but had to sell it because someone reported it, saying that it barked too much. Pfft.. She sold it for $125 dollars but made sure it was going to a good home..

That is nothing. What REALLY gets me is when "cockapoo's" are in the newspaper, getting bought for $600 - When they can just go to the pound, and get a mutt for way cheaper.

I know what you mean, there selling Yorki-Pom cross dogs for $595..They don't come with first shots or anything.

I really don't agree with purposely crossing two breeds. Especially then selling them for such a ridiculous amount.

So many purebreds are rare already, people are increasing the rarity by crossing breeds. It's different when it's accidental but when someone does that and calls it something stupid like a 'Cockerpoo' or whatever it just really annoys me.

I know, I hate it too. I personally think that they are trying to make it look like a purebred by mixing their names together, "Cockapoo" kind of sounds like a type of bird if you ask me..

I believe in crossing dogs to get a good all-round dog, but for money, that is downright stupid. Most of the animals where I live are crosses, which is good because most of the land where I live is farmland and farms need a dog that can heel livestock, kill rats, and spook birds. Crossing breeds for money and giving them stupid names is dishonest.

So long as it's in moderation. We really have to keep the number of Pedigrees up though. Dog Shelters are often bursting with all kinds of crossbreeds. People don't like them. Chi is a crossbreed. But I love him. <3

There was one person - on a classified pet website that I go on - that was selling "Purebred Cockapoos." They said they they were purebred but had no paper and they were going for $600 dollars. I hope nobody goes for that because it's just plain stupid..

For some people thats how they get money. It's not bad for a German Shepherd to have pure bred puppies then to sell them for $700. Dogs are like horses where value can be determined by the papers of the mother and father. Most people buy dogs of that amount for dog shows.

And any way dont we have the dogs today because we cross bred them with other dogs?

Even for a pure bred German shepherd Dog for 700 is a joke, UNLESS it has showing parents - shots - and maybe papers.

I HATE.HATE.HATE when people just breed their dog, simply because its a "pure bred." -_- I mean, first - search up breeding and read all the risks, and don't breed just because you want part of your dog. REAL good breeders breed for BETTER the dog, not because they want part of their dog, or money or because their dog is a pure bred.. . -________-;;;

Ok, I hate the idea of show dogs. Most show handlers only care for the money and pride rather than the well-being of their dogs as actual dogs. However, it is nice to see a purely bred dog.

Once the idea of having cockerdoodles or whatever dies out they'll just be even more crossbreeds stuck in kennels. People like purebreds. They don't like crossbreeds. That's the general public. But I mean, for those husky fanatics out there, would you prefer a purebred Siberian Husky with papers that show his father was a famous sled dog... or a german shepherd / cattle dog / husky cross that doesn't look remotely like a husky.

I know it sounds snobby... but that's my opinion.

Yes. As usual the world revolves around money. To people, it's all that matters. Not everyone though, just most people.

That's a little strange for a litter of mutts I've seen pure-blood german shepherd pups for that price. Sounds like a rip-off...

Because that's people's jobs. It costs money to have puppies. And yes Dog prices very I've seen dogs for $1500, dogs not puppies.
