Title: Shinning Bright

Summary: A decendiant of the great hero Balto, doesn't even realize she is! She goes through troubles and soon realizes that she is. She is outcasted worse than Balto was, but she finds a friend, a German Shepherd who lives about the town. What will happen to the pup? Will she find greatness like her great great Grandfather, or will she forever be known as a 'wild creature'?...
Notes: This story is about Felice, a char' I won in CWH14T's contest, and how I came up with this story is by roleplaying it out with HydraPhalanx, so I would say this is writen by the both of us. ;D Thanks so much HydraPhalanx!

The sound of the forming ice crashing against each other and the sound of the last of the geese heading south for the winter awoke a small sleeping pup, about the age of seven months. She blinked slightly, looking into the blanket that smelled so sweet before her. She yawned, and slowly began to stretch as another loud crashing of the ice hit. She looked around, as she got completely to her paws. The old boat she stayed it, was indeed, old. But she couldn't help but want to stay here. True, parts of it were falling, but she couldn't help but stay.
She turned around a few times, before heading out of it, looking around the deck. She sighed, and walked over the creaking floor boards, and then jumped up onto an old crate. She then pushed herself so she could look over the bow. She sniffed the air as it stung her face with the signs of winter. She looked out to the ocean before her, and sighed. She jumped down from the bow, and off the crate, going back into the covered area. She sniffed around, seeing if she had misplaced any food she hadn't eaten. But within fifteen minutes, she knew she was out of luck. She sighed, as her stomach made a garguling sound. She whimepred, and then rushed back over to the crate. She jumped up on it, and then pushed herself so her whole body was balancing on the bow.
'One.. two...' And there was a pause, and then a cracking sound. 'Arrrrowww!' She yelped out as she slipped from the bow, tumbling down the old board that helped her get up onto the boat. She started to fall off half-way through, and then by the time she was a foot and a half from the ground, she fell off, landing in the dirt mixed with snow, letting out a loud 'Ouff' sound as she hit the ground. She shook herself, looking around dizzily. She then looked up at where she had been only moment before, and glared.
She sighed, and then pushed herself up, shaking anything that clunge to her strangly coloured pelt. She yawned, and then looked at the ocean as a wave pulled in slightly. She jumped back, and then turned, running off to go find her uncle. As she made her way into town, she began to slow. She looked around at all the people. But none paid her any attention. She whimpered slightly, and a young child's attention was caught. The child giggled, and reached out to her.
"Ppppppp-pup-yyy!" The child said in a happily tone as she pulled away from her mother to pet the little dog. But as the mother looked, she let out a scretch, pulling her child back before she could touch her.
"No! It'll bite you!" Said the mother in a loud voice. The young child screamed as the mother picked her up, and quickly began to walk away. The young pup had pulled herself slightly away from the child when the mother screetched, but the human's words hurt. It wasn't that she really understood them, it was that she didn't like the tone of them. She sighed, and then trailed off, her tail between her legs, heading for the post office.
The little multi-coloured pup rushed off, and soon she could see the post office. She smiled, and run up, but the dogs wheren't there yet. She whimpered, and jumped around. She noticed that water bowl had some water in it, and she smiled. She went over, and began to lap up the cool water as she awaited the arival of the sled team. As she lapped up the water, she soon heard the heavy pounding of paws in the dirt and snow, and the pull of the sled. She looked up, water dripping from her muzzle as she watched them getting closer.
'Kodaaa!' The pup squeeked, barking as the sled team pulled up. Not as the lead, but as the lead's partner, was her uncle, Koda. He looked over, and smiled at her. His musher took him off the line, taking the lead off next. Koda went over to her, jumping around, and he nuzzled her head.
'How are you Felice, my dear?' Koda asked.
'Awwwe, I am alright.' She replied, and her tail swished back and forth a few times. He smiled, and then frowned.
'Where are your new humans?' He asked. And Felice's ears went down as she looked at Koda. Koda let out a sigh.
'Not again, Felice.' He said. And Felice looked up at him with her big puppish eyes, and Koda let out another sigh.
'Felice, that is the third human family!' He said, and some of the other sleddogs on his team looked at him, and he noticed so he hushed his voice.
'Look, Felice. Your father had gotten you a family so you wouldn't be living on the old boat! And you blew it!.. Again!!' He said, angry. She whimpered.
'I'm sorry!' She yelled, and again the eyes flustered over to the two. Koda looked back to see them staring, and sighed.
'Look, Felice. I didn't mean to get mad.' He said, licking her head. Felice let out a growl, and darted away, heading back to the old boat.
'Felice!!!!!!!!!' Koda yelled, jumping forward.
"Koda!" Came his mushers voice, and Koda looked back with a half whimper. The human's glare did not make him feel any better, so he sat, watching Felice run away. He sighed.
Felice ran all through the town of Nome, and then had found her way back to the boat. She ran to the side where the plank was, and she began to climb it. It was very steep for her, and she always had issues trying to climb it. As she made it to the top, she slipped, and fell to the bottom. She whimpered, and sat there in the snow. She looked up at the sky, and let out a soft howling sound that ended within moments of it starting. She sat there, not attempting to get back up. She looked back, and sighed.
She knew that Koda was right. It had been her third human family, and no matter how hard she tried, she always couldn't keep them. Normally, she would run home to her father, but he was gone. And he wouldn't be back til spring. She had all winter to suffer. And when he got back, she would be in plenty trouble. She whimpered at the thoughts. She slowly got up, and shook her fur free of the snow. And then she moved around the boat, heading back to the outskirts of town, but not daring to go in as afraid she would see her uncle.
