I was reading the lion king book, and it said that Simba and Nala are cousins. So maybe Scar is Nala's father after all, as ugly as it sounds. What do you guys think?

So? They're lions. Alot of mating relationships are incest with them. But it doesn't damage them at all
But I really don't think they're cousins. I mean, Scar Nala's father? I highly doubt it. Neither are similar in any way - both phisically and mentally. If he was her dad, surely she's have gotten something off him

I can't remember what book I had gotten that from, it was called 'the lion's pride' or something like that. But it was a novel, I'm sure of that, and it had Simba and Nala and everyone else in it. I know that sounds bizarre, but that's what the book said.

I don't like the idea that Simba and Nala are cousins, either.

That's what I agree with. XD
I mean, if Scar was Nala's father, there would have been some trait she would have gotten from him. And also, if he was, in the musical they would haven't of put the part where Scar was going on about wanting Nala to be his Queen to give him "Little Scars".

Maybe it was another male lion that died long ago, Thanks ^^ And it's spelt 'Daisy' ^^ SimbasGuard wrote: Actually I think Sarafina was originally from a different Pride, And was already Pregnant with Nala before She joined Mufasa's Pride.
Yup, I agree 100% there ^^ That's what I believe ^^

If you can show me where DISNEY THEMSELVES stated that Scar is indeed Nala's father and not some fan made site, than things would be differnt. But as it stands, I believe Sarafina came from a different pride and was already pregnant with Nala when Mufasa allowed her to join his pride.
And one last thing, the reason Scar didn't kill Nala was probably because Disney couldn't get very far in the story without her later on. She played a HUGE part in it. Plus, I don't think that would be something they would put in a movie for little childern.

Did you read the part where he talked about the book saying that they were cousins? Where did THAT come from?

Even then, was the book written by the people who made the movie? Hmm?
But I'm done with this topic. I'm not going to let someone drag me into an "I'm right, you're wrong" thing. NO ONE is right here. It's our OPPINIONS.

I'm not trying to drag you into a "I'm right, you're wrong" thing. But I'm just glad to know that somebody can read well enough to see that there IS a book. And I'm curious about it. That's not a sin, is it?

This is my first post because this conversation drew my eye lol.
Anyway...i've found a little bit of inconsistencies with some of the arguments made by the website that you gave a link to.
1. "Scar does`nt kill Nala when he takes over the throne after killing Mufasa. He does`nt follow the custom. In a real life lion-pride, a male that wants to take over a pride kills all the cubs to make sure that all cubs born from that time on are his own." ---- yet mufasa does not kill nala even though she is not his cub. Even though one could argue that Mufasa has a kind heart, there can't be a kind of double standard here if one is going to use that argument. And also note that this isn't really a "real-life lion pride" this is a disney movie.
2. Also from the SAME person that gave this argument:
"But I don`t think Sarafina could have mated with Mufasa, because he is the mate of her best friend!" --- In a "real-life lion pride" this would have been considered NORMAL, so in other words, this certain person is using different points of view to fit his/her arguement.
3. As for the part of simba and nala being cousins, it's entirely possible that Mufasa had a SISTER that had nala, even though this is considered incest, it's still a possibility that most people have overlooked i think.
4. Sarafina coming from another pride and whose mate died early --- this is also another possibility, but can only be open to speculation until more information is provided. (the link provided, however, states that
"The directors of The Lion King: Rob Minkoff and Roger Allers, have personally acknowledged that Nala`s father is either Scar or Mufasa.")
Of course, a person holds his/her opinions about this matter. I'm just pointing out a little bit of inconsistencies in the argument that i first saw when you scroll down the page that was provided by the link.
