Going through a tough time

Last night my mom told me we hay have to put my cat Hobie to sleep becouse she keeps throwing up. I got her as a kitten from my grandma when I was 4 after one of her cats had kittens, she 12 and my little baby. I don't know what to tell my mom becouse if I put her to sleep, I can never let another cat into my life. :cry:

I'm sure you can convince your mom to just see if there's anything else she can do, 12 isn't as old as you think. I'm sure the vet must have some kind of medicine for that..

I know 12 isen't really that old and she has a weak stomich anyway.....alone with the fact she hasen't been to the vet in years.

I'm sorry for you but if there is not medicine for her condition then it would be better to put her out of her misery.Again I'm sorry for you and your cat.

Thanks, I'll talk to my mom about getting her some medicine and getting her to a vet. I just can't see my life with out her.

I don't think that it's a fatal problem, it could just be due to allergies. There should be a special food for her to try, and if not, or if it doesn't work, then I'm sorry..but I'll have to agree with CarribbeanLady..

I'll look into maybe finding a food like that but if it dosen't work, I thank you both and I know Hobie will always be with me in spirit.

yeah my cat died of something like that he was only 7....we think he had kidney problems so we took him to the vet and he died over night :cry:

You know...the best way for healing a broken heart is to try to love again. Get a knew kitten from an animal shelter nearest to you and you'll feel as if your cat is with you both. That's what helped heal me when Toby passed away. She was and still remains my best friend.

Thanks everyone, and I did just remember that my aunt said that when she moves next month that my cousin and I can both have a kitten to keep there. Eve if I don't have Hobie then I'll have little Jirura.

I agree with CarribenaLady. I'm sorry about your cat, but it is best to put her out of her pain. I'm sorry though - I couldn't live without my cat either

It's the right thing you have to understand if you are suffering badly what'd you want?I would want to be put down and so would another animal it'd be the right thing to put it out of its suffering......
