Recently...I've been seeing stuff like This Everywhere. Pinning vidoe gamers for big world problems..like we caused al of this. I just thought I would talk about this quick... Aparently the world thinks we are the problem, and that we are all violent killing machines because we play videogames.
Anyone else think this horirble scare tatic is too much? I mean cmon...I was watching cartoon network today..and stuff on there is more easily reachable than a video game..and its appauling on how much stuff is snuck into those shows...Seriously...Anyone got thoughts on this whole "Every gamer is going to be a killingmachine/terrorist" crap?

...You've got to be kidding me. This is just sad. just because someone enjoys playing a game where there's blood and violence doesn't mean that all video gamers are going to be the next big terrorist group or something ridiculous like that.
The only game that I have ever played that has relatively a lot of blood and violence is Call of Duty, but it has had absolutely no affect on how I act. It's just a game.
I just don't think that games have so much affect on gamers that the governnment has to step in and stop a certain type of video game from being produced.
These people are overreacting a bit too much.

gee... and i thought germany was the only country with such a debate... >.>
People who blame veideogames to be the trigger of persons who run amok, then i have to say: They just want to distract the attention from the real problem: the society. As far as i know, every amok guy had problems in the society, NOT with videogames.
Those amok ppl were often teased in the past, but not by videogames... They got teased by other pupils etc.
Then I ask those ppl who talk such a nonsense about computergames: WHAT IS WORSE: Beating up a computerfigure, wich will be fully functional again, after reloading the level, or beatin someone up, who walks along the street, who could REALLY die from that?
Now some people will say: "But if someone plays too many computergames he can't devide real and virtual worlds anymore."
Nonsense again: So long you are not mentally disturbed you CAN devide reality from virtual worlds.

I've noticed that people who don't have much touch of reality. I've been playing video games for a long time, and I've yet to go on a killing spree...
I don't see what the big deal is about, honestly.

The violent games, games with blood and not aproprate scenes are the most popular games ever, if they take those away, we can all say bye to any new concols, basicly say bye to video gaming peroid, because no one will buy nice and happy games, talk about boring, so inturn game companys will be shut down, and our gaming world will shatter, it's people and companies like that whom trash things that people love, I hate those types of people of whom say gamers are a problem and gamers and games are corupting this world, bunch of morons, but we shouldn't have to worry, I think more then half the world plays video games anyway so yay!!^^
I have learned so much from video games, one of the best aspects it covers is:
Imagenation.
Problem solving.
And some other educational values...
I wish some people who think they are bad should lighten up abit....

Believe me, one student almost killed a teacher because of it. (One time, my teacher said playing games too much will melt your brain). Well, I might be wrong
IT's not the videogames..its the Person...The Videogames dont all of a sudden make you go "Killings Alright". If it were so...I would have killed many many people XD

There is some truth in it, Video games do bring down some of the sences down.
But they dont make people go out and kill. For those people it's an outlet and saying that GTA caused a person to killsome on it Bull. There are always signs like:
-Firestarting, invariably just for the thrill of destroying things.
-Cruelty to animals. Many children can be cruel to animals, such as pulling the legs off of spiders, but future serial killers often kill larger animals, like dogs and cats, and frequently for their solitary enjoyment rather than to impress peers.
Also I think it should be up to parents to look at the games their kids are playing. You cant let the Playstation or TV babysit your kids you have to talk to them.
