Ok, I've posted this before in another board.. I shouldn't have so I'm moving it here.
I need opinions more than anything. Please don't flame.. such little matters can create big flames at the moment so, just keep your cool and accept what others say. I don't want to have to get a mod to lock a topic like this.
What breed do you think Archie is?
I know that he's part Border Collie. But he's not a purebred.
Just some extra facts that might help;
- He's about the size of a Border Collie, perhaps slightly larger.
- He was a light, feathery brush tail.
- His ears are as shown in the first picture most of the time.
- He can put his ears upright (pointed) and back on his head.
- He's quite shy but very friendly and playful.
- He's very fast.

I've been told by others both online and offline in the past that he could be crossed with the following breeds; Rough Collie, German Shepherd, Husky, Australian Cattle Dog, Belgian Shepherd & a Shetland Sheepdog. Oh yeah, and a Wolf.
PLEASE VIEW my last post.. I think I might have found out what Archie is crossed with!!!

Oh.. that's sad. Poor doggie.. You have my sympathy.
He's not a purebred Border Collie. But yes, he is mostly Collie.

Well, first I'm going say that you have a very handsome dog. He really looks like a Border Collie, if you hadn't said he was a cross I would have never guessed! But, since he is I would say some sort of labrador retrever. Maybe a flat coated or maybe just a labrador retrever except he got the border collie fur.(Long) Well, I hope this helps! And also, who saud a wolf?

Yep, a lot of people said that last time I asked. I did actually question my vet about this and they said he's not 'bulky' enough to be a retriever. But I can see where you're coming from with the picture. Thanks!

I really don't know, I think he might be crossed with a labrador retriever, or maybe a sheltie.
Lets see if you can help me figure out what breed mine is, we don't know anything about her except that she has no rottweiler in her.
-She's really strong, she can pull up to 200 pounds [My friend and her sister] on a sled.
-She's FAST!
-She has really big teeth and strong jaws.
-She can jump really high--about 3 feet in the air for her favorite treat, but when she was younger she would jump the fence.
-She's not the least bit agressive and wont bite anyone, she's also scared of cats.
-She's about 26" sitting down from the bottom of her paw to the top of her head.
-She's around 50 pounds [A couple more or less]
-She's a really picky eater [Don't know what that could mean]
-She's scared of men
-She rarely barks...
-She NEVER gets tired
-Her tail is always curled up, unless she's sad or scared.
We think she could be part pitbull because of the way she walks, how high she can jump and how hard she can bite, we also get like 4 people each day asking if she's a pitbull..
Edit: Wow, your dog looks like he could be crossed with a Belgian Shepherd, OR, maybe, he's a border collie/collie cross, his legs are a bit skinnier then a purebred border collie, and his fur is a bit longer, [From what I see in the pics] just like a collie.
Hey, my dog and your dog have the same collar! LOL, that was only a one time thing, though..I got sick of it and got a new one..

shes georgess, such a sweet face and i think them people can be kinda right, she does seem abit like a pitball but because of her kind nature i'd say shes more like a staff crossed a tibetan mastiff becuse of her coat and colours.

Hey, my dog and your dog have the same collar! LOL, that was only a one time thing, though..I got sick of it and got a new one.. Yeah, he's definetely some kind of herding/working dog crossed with Collie. I'm really not sure about the labrador thing. I've seen many labs and, as my vet said, he's not really 'bulky' enough. Nor as well-muscled. Archie has a new collar as well now, a nice soft leather TimerWolf one. He likes it. I'd say your dog looks like she has a bit of Dobermann in her.. but I'm not sure. She's very sweet though. [/quote]

Thanks people! Archie is really cute too, I like his fur.
I think that she might have some doberman in her, because of her markings and all, but she has bigger bones and isn't quite as big.
I think her dad could have been a tibetan mastiff/Doberman cross, he was HUGE!

Maybe Archie is part Nova Scotia Duck-Tolling Retriver.
Here is what that breed looks like:
