I checked the other topic so I could post lyrics to my own songs and it looks like it's saying "No posts exist for this topic" again (I'm really beginning to hate that bug...). So, mind if I start a new topic? I really hope that the evil "Topic bug" doesn't affect this one early on. Anyway, on to the songs. A couple months ago, I wrote this song called "My Inner Wolf". It's intended to be catchy 80's AOR (Album-oriented rock) along the lines of Loverboy, 707, Night Ranger, Shooting Star and various obscure pomprock bands but with a dark feel to it as well. The tune to it was inspired by two songs, Stan Bush's "The Touch" (AKA the Transformers The Movie Theme Song) and Fair Warning's "Don't Keep Me Waiting".
Here are the lyrics:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I stood in the night, cold wind in my hair
The moon arisen to my lupine stare
So I thought of my friends as I looked at those hills
To remember those times just gave me the chills
With my pack gone and tears in my eyes,
I perched on a ledge and there I cried
And I cried with my inner wolf
And I died with my inner wolf
And I couldn't believe I was the last left standing
To fight in the wilderness on my own
I walked the trails that my friends traced
My paws so tired of the thoughts I raced
I felt that I was the last of my kind
These haunted ideas burned in my mind
With my pack vanished in the dead of night
I shuddered and shook at the terrible sight
And I cried with my inner wolf
And I died with my inner wolf
And I couldn't believe I was the last left standing
To fight in the wilderness on my own
And I cried with my inner wolf
And I died with my inner wolf
And I never knew that i'd be all alone
