Well i grew up with pitbulls and rottweilers and now people think they are so dangerous they are going to kill anyone they see!people want to ban these dogs.i mean they never did anything wrong.for a matter of fact dangerous dogs have been proven the ones that love their owner the most.Pit bulls and other dangerous dogs have been proven to be my best friend!why do people hate these dogs?why?only 3 people a year are killed by dangerous dogs. These so called killers are american heros.should these dogs be sorry?no!we should think about all the things people have done to make other people hate these dogs!so if youwant to help save a american hero go to sorryagain.com they have some ways you can help.and thank you for who ever votes that dangerous dogs should not be banned.

As I do'nt agree with 'banning' pit bulls, though. It's not their fault they bite people and a lot of people don't see that because they're way dumb. It's the owners of the pit bulls that make them the way they are, not the dogs themselves. Not that many people see that though, and it really makes me sick. While I never had a pit bull, nor do I want one (I have nothing against the breed mind you) I think it's wrong when people 'crusify' (excuse me for my spelling errors) just because pit bulls are used as fighting dogs. It's not the way they want to live, I'm sure.

Well, they have an agressive nature and people don't know how to handle that. They use that nature so they can fight purely for entertainment. Our neighbors have a pit bull and he's the sweetest thing! They took him to a good trainer and he's very mild mannered. I swear that's the best dog ever.
Dogs are dogs, no different. Training can help.

Actually, that's not true. They were born agressive just like dobermans were born to be guard dogs, or chihuahua's were born to be 'lap-dogs.' Most the time, people can't help what there dog grows up to be like, unless it's a mixed breed. Purebreds will grow up like the rest of their species, be it a pitbull or a chihuahua, you can't change it's personality.
Where I live, not the whole province of Canada, but my city, which I wont say, pitbulls are already banned, unless of course, you have a special license for them, but you would still get into the same amount of trouble if they were to bite someone.
I've always wanted one, but my mom wont let me. XD
Rottweilers aren't near as worse as pitbulls, they're sweet, well atleast all of the rottweilers that I know, not to mention how good of a guard dog they can be.
To answer your question, no. I don't think they should ban everyone from having them, where would they go? They can ban them from their own home if they hate them that much, but still, it's really not their choice if people want pitbulls or not, the person who owns it is going to be the one responsible for it's actions, not whoever is banning them.
What's the big deal?

No banning the pitbulls! They are just like us...why should they be banned so they've hurt others so what does it matter?

well I'll tell you were they would go TO THIER DEATHS!!!! If Pitties were banned from every country thier would be no 1 allowed to keep them and I dont think that 'dangerous' dogs would be left to rome the streets do you? so thier is only 1 place left for them to go.... Pitties were NOT born agressive that is a well known fact. The breed was first used for fighting bulls hence the name then as time passed people noticed that these powerfull dogs could be trained to do alot more than destruct bulls and so they were cruel to the dogs beating them putting strange things into thier bodys through needles basically doing whatever possible to make a killing machine It is not the dogs fault but the owners fault!!!

Not to bash your opinion but, I don't beleive they are born agressive. I believe they have the instinct to be agressive and we have the power to triger it or dull it out. Well, that's what I think.

I agree with Emily. They were not born agressive. That's just how they were taught. I've asked a certified vet and he told me that. He said people are always blaming the breed, which is wrong. It's not the breed, it's the owners of the dog. Not all pits are agressive, only the ones that are taught to be. I knew a few pits that were very loveable and lap dogs. And Chihuauhuas are just 'lap-dogs'. Every single one that I've meet was a purebread and they were the meanest things. The pits that I knew were nicer (by a LOT).
So it is not the dogs that are 'programed' in their DNA to be fighters. It is indeed, the people themselves.

Oh yesh. I have met Chihuauhuas. They are the most yappy and snappy things I've ever met. I have met about five. One out of five was clam and normal. The others were like vicious scraps of fur!XD

In some states where illegal dog-fighting goes on I'm afraid that I think there should be banning on Pit Bulls and Staffies. However, having them on a 'dangerous dogs' list I think is pretty wrong.. not all are dangerous. I mean, sure, when in the wrong hands and with poor training they probably can be dangerous but people will stereotype them as mean if they're on an official list.
