Ok, curious..

How often do you walk your dog and how long for?

I walk Archie for about 10 minutes round the block in the morning and then for about an hour we go to the field or country park in the evening. When he goes with me to my dad's house we go for walks that can last as long as four hours. I couldn't go a day without walking him.

I know that it is a fact around my area that most dogs don't get proper excercise. There are a lot of obese dogs in the area.

Well, as for that, if you have the time, you could pass out some fliers saying that you could walk their dogs for a price or if you like, for free. I'm almost positive they will hire you. I have done the same except I added that I could dogsit their dogs while they're away. I've gotten some bussiness and it's really fun!

As for how long I walk my dog, well, maybe about 2 hours each day. :)

Lewis my rottwiler i have to walk 1 hour and 30 minutes that is two time a day morning and evening this is due to him being a working dog in the K( unit

Sadie my husky cross shepherd i only walk 1 hour morning and night

Both are walked alone unless it is a walk in the nearby forest which both are let off the lead together and normal when the walk is at the forest is about 2 hours or maybe longer is depended on the weather here

In the summer, if I don't have any other plans, I walk with my dog pretty much all day, or until she gets tired.

In the winter, eh..Not everyday. It's too cold for me and her, but she has a big yard to run in. When it's not freezing out, I take her out about 5 times a day, and when it's warm out, I take her to the school feild to run around for about an hour, of course I bring all of her treats and toys. She loves playing fetch or tug-a-war. XD

But she's not overweight, yet..that's what I'm worried about..

On the weekdays, I walk Milo, my Aussie, once in the afternoon, during the lunch hour (I am allowed to return home for lunch from work...gives me a chance to spend time with Milo, since he and I live alone, with no other family)...which is usually a 20-minute walk (what with stops for sniffing and all...lol). Then again in the evening when I come home from work, which is usually a little shorter (and, by then, it's dark out this time of year).

On the weekends, I walk him once in the late morning (usually around 10 A.M.)...another 20-minute affair. And then again in the evenings (and again, a bit shorter).

I also occasionally take him to dog parks. And he goes to dog day care twice a week. We also make an almost weekly visit, on Saturday or Sunday, to the local PetsMart (an American pet supply store chain, which also sells some pets)...or to some other pet store...for socialization if nothing else. And he loves it!

Pets Mart? Haha, here it's "Pet Smart.' that's cool, though. XD

I take my dog to "Best West Pet Foods" everyday to see the cats and rabbits, she loves them.

Sometimes I buy her treats there, too. Her favorite is the 'beef lung' but it's kind of expensive, $5.99 for 100 grams.

I walk my dogs individually. I also have a lot of activities but still make time for them. 20 min. in the morning and about half hour in the evening apporoxamate. I haven't walked them the past two days because I've been sick.

Well, people here still pronounce it as though it's "Pet Smart". But the logo is actually "PETSMART", not "Pets Mart" or even what I typed. Ironically, I recall that, not too long ago, it actually was "PetsMart" (without any spacing). And, when you go on their website, the search engine references the name of the company as "PetSmart". So go fig, huh?

Yeah, but my parents are divorced so I'm not at one house everyday. I couldn't be a reliable dog-walker. I have thought about it. Thanks for the suggestion. As for dog-sitting, I hope to do this one day. I can't now because I'm still a student and at school.

At weekends Archie gets really long walks. We often spend about three hours at the country park. It's just tough after school in the winter since it gets dark so quick. But as long as he gets a good run he's usually happy and fit. :D I have a ball on a rope which covers long distance so he gets a lot of excercise from that at the field.

well I have alot of dogs to walk I take my 4 Great Dane pups out for 2 an a half hours in the morning and then again for 2 hours in the evening (winter and summer). I take my husky troyka and my husky/wolf out with my border collie/kelpie cross for 1 and a half hours. Then theres my Pitbull Drift (my pride and joy lol) I take him every where with me I would take him to school if I could, I get up every morning at around 5am so I take all my dogs out for walks till 9am and he goes with me so thats about 4hours and then in the evening I get back at 4pm stay in for a bit till 5pm and them take my dogs out again till 11pm so thats about another 7hours. Gosh no wonder he's so healthy looking I've never really counted the hours before lol. I guess you could say my life revolves around my dogs. But I dont take them out every day I have two brothers and a sister to help with all the dogs, god if I done that every day Im sure I would have no life lol I do however take drift out with me every day he is my main priority :D

Blah, I plan on getting my -own- dog soon, and most likely a German Shepherd. I plan on doing something with em, just not sure yet. I am fine with my Guinea pig for now. ^^

How much dogs do you have? You should have as much as dogs that you can care for... And plus, I would hope your not getting every dog breed that you wanted, but the dog breed that fits all your needs and that you can handle..

Ok, my first post here in a few months.. wow I missed a lot, lol.. I try to walk my two siberian huskies on a regular basis atleast every other day but lately I've been so busy and getting home late that i haven't really had the chance. Family doesn't walk them for me when I'm away or busy anymore so that doesn't help. However when I am home and not busy about once a week, usually the weekend, I'll either take them both hiking for about 5 - 8 miles up and down some mountains or.. I have trained them to pull a dog scooter, which is like a light weight sled with wheels but only two wheels, we will run for about 3 to 4 miles on some back wood trails if the temperature is below 40 or so. I just bought a training rig for them so I now have a full blown wheeled cart that is to immitate a sled when we don't have snow, most of the time here. Plus I train my girlfriend's two huskies to pull so I have a sled team of 4 to run. Next is the sled.. this definitelly isn't a cheap hobby so that's kind of slowed down on how much we can run too. The cart we got from a referral for cheap but they go for about $800 new depending on what kind you get.. that was a good cheap one. Plus lines.. harnesses and other convenience equipment.. and a good truck to transport them with of course. :p
