This is actually starting to annoy me. Just as old arguments and debates have been de-flamed it seems that newbies bring them up again. Things such as arguments about Steele's breed, about who's related to who e.t.c. are always being created and the answers always the same but it seems people have to flame to get to the point.
Also, old topics in general that are from last year have been brought up by new members as well...
I don't like to rant very often but these things annoy me.

Exactly as long as they say something that will help the debate. But sometimes it's better to bring up an old topic then start a whole new one.

I agree with Togo here. So long as they are actually CONTRIBUTING something to an old topic, I don't care if it's as old as the hills. But if they're doing like some people do - using old topics just to spam and build up their post count for those meaningless ranks, then they're deserving of some sort of warning, or a ban.

I've honestly never seen anyone do that. Every time I see a member posting in an extremely old topic, it's usually something that's been stated already or complete spam.
I have seen it occasionally. Usually in the True Story board. Which, admittedly, is one which the spammers rarely ever visit (thank GOD). Perhaps because the concept of "true history" intimidates them into believing that they couldn't ever hope to understand it, or come up with a good reply. (Not that a spammer ever bothers about a "good reply".)
Thankfully, my board has been lucky.

I haven't read through all the replies, but sorry if someone already said this.
My opinion is that wether it is dumb or alright depends on the circumstances. If someone brought up a year old topic debating something that had already been resolved (by just saying a one-sentence reply like "i totly agree wit u.") it would be annoying.
If someone brought up a debate that wasn't resolved or was n't too old, with a nice, long, meaningful reply that helped the debate somehow, then that is ok. I don't think there's a rule against that.
Also, if Steet wanted to, he would've already made a rule against this, because there's this age cut-off thing on alot of forums that's easy to set. The poster would have to search the whole history of topics to find a specific one. Though I'm not sure. Whatever, just forget cause there's no rule yet

You dont have to delet them, but you could always lock them when no one posts in them for a long time. =]
Just a suggestion. And yeah..
I mean, some topics should not be brought up again. But then again, some are okay. Ones that bring flaming wars should be locked or something. I dont know. Just throwing stuff out there.

Excactly, they're are just completely pointless and worthless posts that are not needed. Baltofan100 has brought up a ton of really old topics and posted pointless things such as 'I agree' or something along those lines.. perhaps a warning is necessary?

holy jesus, you SHOULD be annoyed about that.
Most of these topics are dead are because of two reasons.
A: they were de-flamed and avoided so no more wars would erupt
B: no one is interested in debating the topic anymore.
By posting in one of these topics, you annoy the hell out of the mods and run the risk of starting a flame war on the same topic.
There is a reason for datres on the posts. If the date is four months or more past the current date, DON'T POST IN THE TOPIC!
