Whether the crossover is in RP or a fanfic, it really depends. It would be easier to do a Balto/Bambi crossover since wolves and deer live relatively in the same area, but they have a predator/prey relationship, so I don't think that would work. As for a TLK crossover with Balto, it's been done before and it's been able to work out fine, but lions and wolves live very far apart, unless you consider using wolves from Africa, and Balto is not an African wolf.
It is really your decision on whether or not you want to do that, and creativity would definitely help too.
