Any recommendations?
I'd like a book concerning wolves or dogs. No dragon stories, I'm not really very interested in those. And please, not Harry Potter. I plan to read the most recent in the New Year anyway.
Just so you know, I've already read The Sight. Amazing book. I'll let you know if I've already read any that you recommend..

You could try the classic dog/wolf stories such as:
Title:Call Of The Wild
Plot-Buck the husky is having the dream life with his owner in his home in California. But what will happen to the kind dog as he is stolen from his home and sent to the Arctic as a sled dog?
My Review-Wondeful story that makes you not want to put the book down.
Title:Shiloh
Plot:When Marty Preston comes across a young beagle in the hills behind his home, its love at first sight-and also brings big trouble. It turns out the dog, which Marty names Shiloh, belongs to a hunter who drinks too much and abuses his dogs. How far will Marty go to make sure Shiloh will never get into the hunters hands again?
My Review:Its was quite good accutally.Very cute.
And for cat lovers:
Title:Carlotta's Kittens
Plot:Carlotta's kittens have arrived-five adorable pink nosed, silk eared bundles of fur.But what a responsibility for the male cats of the Club Of Mysteries! Will they find them nice homes and protect them from the evil cat named Steak Knife and his collection tails from his victims?
My Review:Very cute.I love the names they give them. Also there is two other books to this series:
The Grand Escape
The Healing Of Texas Jake
Well I hope that helped.

I recommend reading "Wolf of Shadows" by Whitley Strieber. It's about a family that survives a nuclear explosion and begins to live with wolves. The go through tests of survival and wit, and eventually, they become more like wolves than humans. I like it a lot.

Swords of the Wolves wrote: Here's one:
White Fang by Jack London It's about this wolf/husky cross, whose mother was half wolf, half husky, and his father was all wolf. The wolf/husky cross who was White Fang's mother belongs to a tribe of Indians (I hate to be politically incorrect... but that's what they are referred to as in the book.) and White Fang learns what he knows of humans (mostly the bad side of them) being one of their sled dogs. Well, I can't tell you more without spoiling anything. It's pretty good, and also kind of sad, but it's still good.
Thats the one I was thinking of!I just forgot its title.

Those are some great books above I must say, but I also have some recommendations to go along with:
* "Shunka: Life With an Arctic Wolf" by Marika Lumi Morgan: An excellent read covering the subject of living with wolves (Or wolf in this case). It's mainly about how the introduction of a wolf to the writer's family changes their lives and those around them significantly and the struggle to keep it in control as well caring for the young but quite curious and mischievous Arctic wolf, Shunka. The ending is "a bitter testament to our ignorance of these splendid animals".
* "Spirit of the wild dog" by Lesley J Rogers & Gisela Kaplan: Everything you need to know concerning wolf, its habitat, food, different breeds, etc.... Informative and approachable nonetheless. Whether you're new to the whole thing or an expert, it's worth giving it a try.
* "Wolf Totem" by Jiang Rong: From the views of an Asian writer, it provides glimpse into how the Mongolian see the wolf as a great and worthy foe that they are divinely instructed to contend with, but also to worship and to learn from. It's also a harsh reality on how much mankind has damaged nature in the process of industrial development.
* "Three among the wolves" by Helen Thayer: Written by the first woman to trek solo to the magnetic North Pole, this books tells us a how the couple with their part-wolf, mostly Husky dog, Charlie camping near the wild wolves in the Canadian Yukon and the Arctic in an attempt to observe the wolves' way of life, the complexities of wolf family structure, including how pups are reared and how the injured are tenderly cared for. They view the intricacies of the hunt firsthand — how ravens direct wolves to prey in exchange for carrion — as well as the wolves' finely honed survival skills and engaging playfulness.
