There was this typhon here at washington (the evergreen state not D.C) it was 93 MPH only 7 more and it'd have been a hurricane. We lost the power, now it's back but it was gone for 4 days at my house. over One Million people were left with no power at temperatures of 2 degrees in the night. Wow. 4 days, as some of you may know the power companies are in charge of one city and they distribute the energy using different company "branches" (Which means one team is in charge of one city) well at Seattle the energy was back on the second day in the morning. Here it's a waaaayyyyyyyyy smaller city and the it took them 4 frekin days to get the power back. how can that be? one weather men was stupid enough to acctually say it'd be a minor storm and that after that the sun would come out. Yeah it will come out in spring probably!! 15 people died with accidents. .15 people. How unprepared are we. This shouldn't have been. No action plans from anyone. how stupid is this?

Yeah we get one per year but usually it's just like 4 hours but 2 years ago same thing happened, exept it was only for 3 days.

Then I don't see why the state wasn't prepared.

Dude, this state was as prepared as it gets for that thing. The Federal government is only giving us money. And it took the crews four days to get where you are back on because you were probably in a low priority area, or had alot of damage. Apparently where I live got hit the hardest, but I live in a city, so I got power back yesterday. My friend still doesn't have power. Don't say the crews are being slow, because I've watched them, and they're not, they're hauling. And storms like this don't happen very often here, this is the worst storm that Washington has seen (according to news sources.)

Edit: Oh yeah, I have pics from around where I live, in "Big Blow 2006"
