That's what one of the new's guys (New York Vinny) called it. We just had our power restored, probably a couple hours ago. It's been off since Thursday, 12:27AM. My neighborhood just about got isolated by two trees. Overall, it was fun, but I'd rather have heat in below freezing temperatures, lol. My house and family is fine, and my truck got a little bit of cosmetic damage, but it's all ok. Lol

Apparently, this is a one in 200 year storm that comes through here, according to the NWS (National Weather Service.)

Anywho, here are the pics:

Winds reaching nearly 70mph (that's through the trees, so it exceeded 100mph before it hit us.) It was a bad storm, over one million customers without power around here, everything was shut down and the electrical crews working 12 hours on and 12 hours off.

BTW- all those pics are withen a 1/2 mile radius...

That's crazy..so a tree fell down on a power line or what?

It was pretty easy actually. My Mom's a quilter, so we had plenty of quilts on hand. We also used a fire and focused all the candles and stuff in one room, and all hung out there.

Still, that would suck. XD

Our power went out for about 30 minutes in the day time, and we almost went crazy. XD

Wow, that's like this one storm that hit my place in the summer! It was this small storm cell that was super strong and caused the power to be out for at least a week or more! Although, the good thing was that it was in the summer, and I can get by pretty well without a cooling system (I am really resistant to the heat).

Are they sending in your state's National Guard to help clean things up? Just asking, because that's what they did in my city after a similar storm...

No national guard yet, I don't think it'll get there, but I hear we've flown electric service crews in from as far as Kansas...
