The only thing I probably rant to myself about is the people who say they're leaving the forums (and now its public). I understand that perhaps a fanartist who gets their art stolen wants to stop posting art. That is alright. But someone who gets offended by not even an insult but the slightest hint at one who immediately posts topics saying "I'm leaving the (shoutbox, forum, or other) for good because so-and-so said this" is really annoying. Someone just says dont leave and they dont leave.

Stop posting these topics. I've seen a few (not alot) but they are still annoying. Just because you want attention doesn't mean other people want spam in the boards

I hate those topic too. What they don't know is that even if they DID leave, no one would REALLY care. People SAY they care, but they don't after like...a week at MOST. And these people who post topics saying they're leaving are just attention addicts. They end up coming back anyway

The ones that make me laugh, tho, are the ones that say who they're going to "miss." They say the name, and it usually ends up being themselves only with a different username XD Those crack me up, cuz they know that no one will care if they leave.

If it were up to me, I'd ban whoever posts a topic that says they're leaving just to ensure they won't come back

I hate it when people do that! People are such drama queens. I know you can make friends on the site but, my god some people make such a fuss about it. I think people create the "I'm leaving" topics for attention because when they come back everyone acts like a bunch of puppies who haven't eaten for weeks! They LOVE the attention!

OMG! I can't stand it!

It's so annoying, and I hate when they say 'I'll only miss blah-blah because she was my only true friend!' and it's really the same person, with a double account.

I also hate when people come on the Shout Box and say that. Oh my God. I want to kill them. He [I wont say his name] does it constantly, and never ends up leaving.

What's the point?..I think they just want to see how many people will comment, they must love it when people say, 'No! please don't!'

There are a few times where someone leaves for a legitimate reason (to much homework, they have a life , home problems, etc). But indeed, some people do reneg on their saying they're leaving...

I think they're just made to seek attention.

I don't even know the people who make these topics!

I can see the logic of members wanting to say goodbye, but the one thing that annoys me is the fact that (unless you were a mod or a member loved by everyone) members expect all of their fellow forum-posters to even care if they leave.

Not that I'm trying to be mean here or anything, but please. No one gives a single ****** about whether you are leaving or not.

I think steet should make a rule that if you ARE leaving, that the only way you can say goodbye is through PM. That way, you save other members from those annoying messages, and you can still say goodbye.

Let me add my two cents to this:

I agree with what all of you are saying.

Most especially with one of Cat's suggestions with banning members that make those stupid, pointless "Goodbye, BS - I'm leaving" crap topics. That is genius. XD

But honestly, what is the point of making a feeble little topic of your final words before you leave the forums/site/whatever and you only come back some time later? Pointless stupidity. Sure, it's for the attention . . . that's all it is. All these members that are P.Oed about certain things (like art theft and suggestive topics that we should all know very well by now) or some other reason that I really don't know about only want to add some more spam topics to our beautiful (?) forum about them missing people and stuff.

Who cares? Absolutely no one!

Well, maybe if it were some uber-popular member like, for example, BaltoSeppala or Cat, maybe they're would be a bit of concern . . . but not for most of us, trust me on that.

These topics are as useless as the blooper spam that clutters up our boards. Not just because there's too many of them, but because they can be so darn sappy!

It's this sap that's making us go crazy. I don't like it, and no offense, but I would like to see these stupid people be gone . . . and don't dare to come back. XD After all that time spent on writing a farewell speech, they could have probably written a short fic or drawn a sketch for the site/board or something. At least things like that would have gotten some looks with criticism . . .

*Sighs*....... maybe they are trying to give a certin few members a messege? maybe about how bad they think the mods are at there job? maybe they hate how they have been treated?.... think, many of the members that left have thoughs exact things in commen, if you know them ask and see, but I highly recomend if your a mod here, do not ask them for they will probably flame you and tell you off, or threaten in any ways they feel is right, one of the threats I heard from one well actully a few of the members that left here was that if the mod's bullcrap keeps up then say bye to bs for good, im not sure if they are serious or not, but I wouldn't understimate them, because some of them can if they want, I know from experiance.

But there are some members on here that left because bs is crap and completely unorgenized and usless, lots of the members that left have there reasions and somepost it because they are saying bye or they are giving a messege or a warning, theres more to those goodbye topics then many see, lets just hope none of them lead to this site/fourm's termination......

Yeah those topics are annoying, but it's not wise not to pay close attention to them......

Also do not take this post in thinking I think thoughs things ok, because if I did would I even be posting it? no, so please do not make it seem that way......

Sigh...Ecliptica, please don't turn this into a flame war about the mods....sigh...
Though there are some geniune people who leave for good reasons, some people leave because they think if they leave, then people in BS'll start thinking and say "hey, he/she is right."
But this does not work....

When someone really leaves, he doesn't posts a message. That's what I think.
Now, what's the solution? I think that if they want to post something like this, it can't really be prevented; so I think the best thing to do is to create a special topic for this, so that members who don't want to see that kind of messages won't bother looking into it.
I thought that a mod recently asked me and wanted to do a topic like this, but I still don't see it on the forums...Unless I've missed it.

Well I don't see so many solutions...Even if I would prevent this kind of topics in the rules, there would still be topics like that for sure.
The fact is, I can see this kind of topics happening in many forums, as soon as it becomes popular and that there aren't only adults on.

Well for a fact (No efence Steet and the mods.) but I was on the shoutbox awhile ago and some people were saying" this site is getting worse every time Steet adds something. they ranted about the Bandbox mostly saying it was too stressfull.

Also I think the I'm leaveing topic is just a fire war wating to happen. Its just a vary pointless topic of spam. If someone wants to leave, they will just leave.
