Just out of curiousity really, plus, Archie needs to loose a kilo. Thanks to scraps from my mum..
As much as I'd love to give him homemade meals, he has Purina Baker's Complete, dry food.
What do you give your dog as a main meal?

I feed Milo, my Australian Shepherd, a dry food called "Canidae", a holistic brand. Sometimes I mix it with a little of their canned food (even heated up a bit...lol I know...sounds like I spoil him, doesn't it? Not really, but sometimes even I wonder!).
Canidae (like some other holistic brands) is EXCELLENT for the general health of a dog...much better than a lot of the commercial brands.

I feed both of my dogs Eukanuba and they both are at a healthy weight. It's expensive though.

I was going to make a topic like this..My dog is so picky. She only likes a few foods, and these are all the ones we've tried that she didn't like:
Purina [All kinds]
Natural Choice
No-name [She might of liked it. but no. XD]
Science Diet
Eukanuba
Ol' Roy
Mainstay
Alpo
ProPlan
And..LOTS more.
Right now, she has a mix of all kinds of food, there's:
Kibbles & Bits
Acana
Pedigree
and Iams, but she only likes Iams if we put that special sauce on it.
I mix some of those together, but she gets sick of the same food over and over.
Those are the only 4 she liked. Unless you count my cats food. XD
We spend between 65-75 dollars a month on food and treats alone. Just for her.
Not counting shampoo, nail clippers, ear & eye cleaner, brushes, dog-cologne, collars & leashes [she gets new ones every month/every 2 months. They get dirty and wrecked fast. XD] and all that stuff.
My cats only eat Whiskas, there obsessed with it. XD
Do you guys know any foods that are ment for picky dogs?
Oh, and according to the Iams 'Healthy weight test' my dog is underweight, 41 pounds. I don't think that's underweight. o_0

Interesting. You all talk about how expensive these name brands are. The holistic brand I mentioned, above (which is healthier than any commercial brand) costs $24.00 for a 20-pound bag, and a dollar and change for a can. To me, that isn't expensive at all.

Wow, it's not.
I should try it, do you know if they sell it in Canada?
And no, it's not the prices of the food really, it's just the store I get it from, it's the closest pet store to where I live. [My mom doesn't have a car & my dad lives in another province. XD] They charge more because they know it's kind of a 'last resort' thing.
But if my dog likes it, and they sell it here, I'll try some. XD

They probably do. You might try going to the link I posted above. There should be a store locator.
It was recommended to me by an owner of two beautiful male Australian Shepherds I met on an online Aussie group. He said that the only thing he ever fed his boys was Canidae, and the results have been excellent in their two years of life. They are healthy, their coats are in excellent shape, and they are full of spunk. And they love the stuff! I've fed nothing but that to Milo, my Aussie, and I always get compliments on him (including his coat).

I checked the store locator, it said 'Type State Here' or something. Canada is not a state. XD But I typed it anyway, it came up as 'Canada, Kentucky.' XD No.
I get complements for my dog too, but it's just because I brush her alot and have a special 'coat-shine' spray that I bought. Her food might have something to do with it, though.
I'll ask my mom to phone a pet store, or something, and ask them about it.

Doesn't look like I can get Canidae.
Purina make ProPlan don't they?
Archie can be quite picky as well. At our old vets, they made us buy a dry (and very boring, unutrional) food called 'Obesity'. It was very expensive and Archie hated it. It was to help him loose weight when he put on a lot. It took him about half a year to loose the weight on this. However, last time Archie put on 2 kilos, we just gave him Pedigree 'Light' and he lost it within about three months.
I prefer giving him Purina foods. He likes his Baker's Complete weight control. I hope to try him on James Wellbeloved soon.. its a natural, organic recipe.

Well, gang...if you're really interested in getting the food, there is always the simple matter of either asking your local pet store or pet supply store to carry it, or to contact the company directly through the website. I know it's sold outside the U.S.
Chastity, try this for Canada (which was on the store locator page if you just scrolled down...I mean, obviously Canada is not a state, and has no states): http://canidae.know-where.com/canidae/cgi/index?mapid=CA&design=default&lang=en

Yeah I guess they do, Purina has so many different names for their food it's not even funny. ><
Okay I checked that, and it says that they sell it at the pet store closest to me, I didn't see it there, hmm. I guess I'll have to check again.
I actually have to mix puppy food in with my dogs food, I was recommended my one of those 'Iams Experts' because she is underweight. She was 35 pounds, and now is 41. It's mostly from treats though, and I don't want her to get addicted to the food and become overweight.
I don't think she's underweight, I think that if they saw her, they would say she was normal.
I told them the breed, and usually their large dogs. But mine is small for her breed so.. I'm not sure.
