That was never officially documented in the sequels. The last we see of Steele, the town dogs walk out of the boiler room, leaving him standing alone, in shame. And then the door shuts on him.

Yea, BaltoSeppala is right. You have to decide that for yourself ;) I think it's good cause it leaves ideas for your fan fics!
