I received this in an e-mail from Whisperofwind and decided to post it here. It hurt me to read it, to admit it, but...It has a very good point.

Reply:

Dear Concerned Student:

I am not allowed in schools.

Sincerely,

God

----------------------------------------------------------

How did this get started?...

-----------------

Let's see,
I think it started when Madeline Murray O'Hare complained
she didn't want any prayer in our schools.

And we said, OK.

------------------

Then, someone said you better not

read the Bible in school,
the Bible that says
"thou shalt not kill,
thou shalt not steal,
and love your neighbors as yourself,"

And we said, OK...

-----------------

Dr. Benjamin Spock said
we shouldn't spank our children
when they misbehaved
because their little personalities
would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem.

And we said,
an expert should know what he's talking about
so we won't spank them anymore..

------------------

Then someone said
teachers and principals better not
discipline our children when they misbehave.
And the school administrators said
no faculty member in this school
better touch a student when they misbehave
because we don't want any bad publicity,
and we surely don't want to be sued.

And we accepted their reasoning...

------------------

Then someone said,
let's let our daughters have abortions if they want,
and they won't even have to tell their parents.

And we said, that's a grand idea...

------------------

Then some wise school board member said,
since boys will be boys
and they're going to do it anyway,
let's give our sons all the condoms they want,
so they can have all the fun they desire,
and we won't have to tell their parents they got them at school.

And we said, that's another great idea...

------------------

Then some of our top elected officials said
it doesn't matter what we do in private as long as we do our jobs.

And we said,
it doesn't matter what anybody, including the President,
does in private as long as we have jobs and the economy is good....

------------------

And someone else took that appreciation a step further
and published pictures of nude children
and then stepped further still by
making them available on the Internet.

And we said, everyone's entitled to free speech....

------------------

And the entertainment industry said,
let's make TV shows and movies that promote
profanity, violence and illicit sex...
And let's record music that encourages
rape, drugs, murder, suicide, and satanic themes...

And we said,
it's just entertainment
and it has no adverse effect
and nobody takes it seriously anyway,
so go right ahead.

------------------

Now we're asking ourselves
why our children have no conscience,
why they don't know right from wrong,
and why it doesn't bother them to
kill strangers, classmates or even themselves.

------------------

Undoubtedly,
if we thought about it long and hard enough,
we could figure it out.
I'm sure it has a great deal to do with...

"WE REAP WHAT WE SOW,"

------------------

Pass it on
if you think it has merit!
If not then just discard it...
But if you discard this thought process,
then don't you dare sit back and complain about
what bad shape this country is in!

Not trying to start a war, This e-mail had me thinking.....and I wanted to see how it would be viewed.

If it becomes a contest of angry words the Mods are welcome to delete it.

Thanks guys,

And thanks for giving it a chance Togo, If it does escalate into anything please lock it.

If your opinion is different I only ask that you share it in a peacable way,

A soft answer turneth away wrath, but angry words stir up strife.

p.s. One reason I shared this is because I was near Columbine at the time of the shooting- I got to meet the mother of one of the teens as she stood beside her daughters cross cry.gif It was horribly sad.

I totally agree with you. You rock for putting this up, as Dingo eloquently put it.

It sure took courage to post that! And it also took courage for anyone to respond in support of it. I would like to add my voice to the brave souls who do support the posting of this material.

With the gradual killing of Christmas and Easter in schools, stores and the public arena (though holidays and celebrations of all other religions, cultures and nationalities are still preserved and respected)...with the taking down of symbols of America in our American schools and public places...with a national divorce rate of 50%...with the repeated attempts to legalize marijuana...with the FORCED "cultural sensitivity" to those of other nations who settle (temporarily and/or illegally) within our borders (including the practical establishment of Spanish as a second national language so as to make things "easier and more convenient" for [mostly illegal] Hispanic immigrants, when immigrants of so many other cultures in the past had to learn to adapt to American culture and the English language in order to become integrated into our society AS new and legal American citizens...with the liberal establishment using political pressure AND thought-police mentality to FORCE us to comply with these (and other bad) changes, it is no wonder that American culture and society, and the traditional nuclear family in our nation, is dying. There are more American citizens than any liberal is willing to admit who are growing dangerously SICK of it.

And, wonder of wonders, whenever anyone speaks up like this person has done, in defense of traditional and family values (or religious faith), they are laughed at, condemned, and their voices silenced (either out of fear of an argument, a need to maintain "cultural sensitivity and diversity", or because what they say and believe is viewed, by the current [liberal] mentality as "outdated", "primitive" or, ironically, "offensive").

I saw that, but I didn't want to, my best friend was one of the victoms of that massecure of hate, rage and pain. . . I still remember the phone call from the mother because she knew I was his best friend so she thought id should know.......

Also if you get a chance, see Elephant, it's also another movie about columbine, and what I saw in that movie messed with my head so much, I could speak for a few days, I just can't imagen what all the people there at the time was feeling

I just looked up the columbine on wikopedia and I, I can bare to see the faces because I know i'll se..... im going to stop there, but it also has the police recordings and blogs the shooters had.......... that incedent was truely purely evil...... it also tells about there problems and one of the reasions they went like that was anti depressents, and other things, but anti depressents shouldn't be taken by someone who is not an adult, because sometimes they go overboard.........

Sorry for going off topic, but I agree with everything you posted......

Yeah. He did one decent documentary. The rest? Political garbage.

Still, that whole incident addresses another BIG problem in schools (EVERYWHERE). The concept of bullying. And how, for so long, adult teachers and administrators have ignored it, or brushed it aside (either because they didn't want to deal with it, or face defensive parents OF bullies ["not MY child!"], or because, in America, teachers aren't allowed to discipline kids anymore, for fear of being accused of some vile crime).

While what those two kids did is NEVER to be considered acceptable justification for revenge, it does point to a larger problem that most of society is afraid to admit. The coddled jocks and popular kids, who tease, cajole and bully others are given all the advantages, and the kids who are teased (for WHATEVER REASON) are treated as problem cases to be shoved aside. What happened here is a very extreme and sad case.

Still, the climate in the U.S. is changing a little. There are programs now which deal with bullies. Just not enough.

I really think that some of the blame should be on the kids.

Most kids have no limits and lets face it the schools can only pat them on the wrists. The parents I think now share more of a punishment if their kid goes to school and shoots the place up.

It dont think we should take profanity, violence and sex out of Tv. Anyway with the FCC nothing too bad on cable can be shown. It should not be the TV's sole job to babysit our kids, parents should sit down with their kids and watch something together.

They should look out for their kids more, 9 times out of 10 the kid will show a problem where it be getting too involved in violent video games or killing animals. They all take baby steps till they explode in a school setting.
