I'm not sure where this belongs...so mods, as always, feel free to move or remove.
Got this in my Christian Awareness Class. I thought it was relevant to certain arguments here at Balto Source.
RULES FOR FIGHTING FAIRLY
1. Identify the Problem, not the person. Istead of saying "I have a problem with Bob", try "I have a problem with ( ___enter annoying trait/problem here___)"
2. Focus on the Problem! Don't bring up the PAST or the FUTURE. Stay on top of the present problem!
3. Attack the Problem, not the Person! Never start out with the word 'you' or a name! Istead of saying "You are so mean to me!", try saying "I feel ______ when you ______."
4. Listen with an open mind. You might learn something new!
5. Treat the other person's feelings with respect. Remember-- feelings are rarely totally right are wrong. Chances are, your feelings are just as flawed as the other person's!
6. Take responsibility for your actions! Meet people halfway! Try "Alright, I'd be willing to do this. What are you willing to do?"
7. Lighten up! If the fight still isn't resolved, shake hands (metaphorically--shaking hands is hard to do over the net..) and be happy that you're both good debaters! You're debate will allow others to form their own opinions!
Yeah....hope this helps....

I'm glad someone finally put this up x) Thank you The fact that people hardly ever think like this (at least most that I've seen fighting haven't..) during a fight really bugs me.
