In Balto 1, there was the mysterious White Wolf which came to Balto and reminded him of his wolf heritage. Then in Balto 2: Wolf Quest, there was the white wolf Aniu, who appeared at the end of the movie, stating that she was Balto's mother. So which is which? Are they the same, with just some poor animation on the second movie? In my opinion, they are supposed to be the same, but the animators in Wolf Quest just didn't work hard on their animation, and made them look almost entirely different. What do you think?

They are *meant* to be the same.. Wolf Quest people intended it to the be same, thing is they changed the symbolic meaning that was the original white wolf and they turned it into a more litural sense which in my opinion is boring. But then I tend to disregard Wolf Quest to be honest as the original is the one I love.

I'd prefer if the white wolf was just a wolf. And the white wolf in BWQ was aniu.

Well... I saw a suggestion made by steet, That maybe the White Wolf was Balto's spirit guide. I think that is a reasonable explanation, Who agrees?

I don't think the white wolf is supposed to be aniu, it might just be a coincidence that the white wolf was there in balto 1. Also they don't look the same but that might be bad animation.

I agree with what Ac said, the creators of WQ did make the white wolf baltos mother, even though it may have not been. So its kind of funny the white wolf is baltos mother, and she is not. it just depends on what movie you take a liking to, but do know this in the eyes of the creators of WQ the white wolf from B1 and Aniu from B2 are the same.

There are still few white wolves in northern areas,but I don't think Aniu and that white wolf are the same,though I've answered that question a few times.
