Since I haven't seen a topic like this so yeah....For those who don't know what SMS means it's an abbvreviation from Short Messaging System (common to mobile phone users) and since this kind of language is against the rules I am wondering why people on the forums and mostly on the ShoutBox use it? Now I am not talking about the "brb" or "wb" things....they are alright, I am talking about the any1 or qwik (this one was the hardest from them all XD) etc. etc. etc. Do people that use this type of language bother you? And do you think that there is something that can be done? Please post your opinions.

I get annoyed by it myself, the best things to do are either ignore it,PM an sb Mod,or a Mod on the forum.

 It not only annoys me on the forums but on the shout box too, on the forums I can ignore it, but on the shout box they constantly post the same thing over and over if you don't answer them, and I can't even understand them sometimes.

'hey lyk wuts up wanna b my frnd? osm u r kool'

It's SO annoying!

I don't really go on the shout box at all, but I have seen how some people use SMS there and it's very difficult to understand what they are saying, and it can be quite annoying. It's even more annoying on the forums, which I go to very often. I just don't see why some people cannot look at the rules and see for themselves that it's not allowed.

I think it should be a rule that one the fourms, in the roleplay section. NO SMS is allowed when roleplaying.

Yes! I HATE when people do this. Its lazy and immature and makes you look incredibly stupid (although, I do abbrieviate "though" with "tho" but I can't stand its longer version anyway XD) But what REALLY drives me crazy is when people SPEAK in SMS. I am not even kidding, why on earth would anyone want to SAY "LOL" when its so much easier to expression "laughing out loud" with...LAUGHING OUT LOUD?? And it doesnt stop there either, they say "Jk" and all that other bullcrap and it makes me want to treat them violently :x

But I can happily say that changing "going to" to "gonna" or "you" to "ya" does not bother me. Because people do speak like that.

I hate it when people do that! I admit I abbreviate tonight with tonite, but I find it easier and its not as bad as some of the OTHER stuff I see. Some people I talk to use it all the time and its kinda annoying. I always have to read eveything they type twice. ><

Like everyone else, I believe that on the shoutbox it's okay, but on the forums...I guess a little bit is okay, as long as it's understandable, but once it becomes illegible jargon, then...nooo....
