Varjak is learning more about the city after running away from home. But, unfortunately, the city is being taken over by Sally Bones - a thin white cat with one ice-blue eye, and a heart of cruelty and malice, and her deadly gang. They have made a new law, that no other cat would be allowed to hunt or eat in their city. If they do, they get Sally Bone's punishment - a horrid fate worse then death...and she's after Varjak...
