A few monthes ago, my Australian Shepard, Rocker, passed away. I've had this dog since I could remember and my friends are always sayiong "get over it, he's just a dog" But he wasn't just a dog, he was my best friend. He was 12 when he passed due to being hit by a car. Have any of you still felt sad after your friend's passing monthes later?

Oh definitely. I've lost a dog too, and she wasn't even close to old. She got sick and we had to put her down a few years ago. Recently, in april, I had to put one of my best animals friends down. My horse Chase. I was really heartbroken, and am still easily upset when I talk about it for too long. But I just think how now I have two new furry guardian angels watching.

I have. I had a cat named Angel. We had him for 5 years. We had him since he was a kitten. I picked him out of the litter. He died last year due to Cancer. He had Lukeumia. No one could help him. And to this day I still get tears in my eyes. I loved that cat so much, I will never, ever forget him.

Do I ever. Around six years ago, my cat ran away when a friend left our front door open. Back then, we lived around a lot of coyotes, so I was really worried. I haven't seen her since, and we moved to a different house a few months later, so I probably won't see her again if she's still alive, which, sadly, isn't likely.

yea, my German Shepard Austin was killed by a drive-by shooting about a year and a half ago when I was walking him and the other dogs. I still have issues with it.

I lost my cat Blackey at least 5 years ago and I still miss him very much. I hate when people say to you that it's just a pet you get another one and so on, but they don't really understand because you loved it and it was special to you. I just don't listen to what some people have to say about it. Most of my friends understood what happend so they were helpful to me about it.

I'm sorry about that, I hope you feel better and I'm sorry about your loss. I also lost my bird last year and it was getting over it. So just hang in there.

Wow, sorry to hear that. I've lost a lot of animals. I had three cats when I was born, and the first one died from throat cancer when I was 7. The second one died a few years later from a large tumor, and we just lost the last one in February from old age.

I'm over it now, but I still get depressed when I think about them.

Oh I understand exactly how you feel. I am so sorry. Same thing happened to me about 4 months ago. My cat Shushy passed away in September. He was my best friend and almost exactly how your dog acted toward you. I hope you feel better soon. And its okay to still be sad because I still cry because my cat is gone. I had him since I was 3 and he was only 7 when he passed away. I hope you will start to relize soon that death is somewhat of a memorial where the pain stops and the good memories begin forever. Sometimes I still can't find that. But I have faith your dog still loves you and he will always be your best friend. On earth or not
