Alot of things can make up a character remember. It could be markings, color, personality...Markings are a sight characteristic, something that would catch someone's eye is unusual or original markings. Colors are also a sight characteristic. Personality is another thing. It's more of a physical (i suppose) characteristic. Describing a character's background or personality in a way that stands out or relates to you is always nice to see. Original bios are fun too. Fanfics are one way to show others your character's traits.
wow that was longer than I thought it'd be lol. Hope it helps.

Ah. I usually try to avoid clothing for animal chars. I just seems un-natural to me. But that's me. For a werewolf, I've noticed hanging loinclothes are pretty common, along with long manes that look like hair, with little ties or feathers, or other trinkets in it. Bracelets I've seen, and rings. Seen some with piercings too I thought that was pretty cool. For werewolves atleast. You could probably add all that to wolves as well.

Basically just find a forums mod to do it. Like Black Shimmer or Togo.

Personality-wise, lots of times people base their characters mostly from their own personality or from peoples' personalities that they know of in their real life. Same with accessories, like if you're making a fursona for yourself and you want to give it clothes or something, give it a shirt or a bracelet or something that you may wear all the time.
