Remember the mate box? The chat room where people could talk to their "mate" about "mate" things? Remember how stupid that was? Remember how happy everybody was when steet got rid of it?

Well, doesn't it just make you want to slam your head into a wall when you see two people on the shout box or the RP box talk all "lovey dovey" like they just came out of the Tuck Everlasting film?

Ok, sure, at first it was all "Aww! How cute! They love each other!" But then they started having public displays of affection (PDA) by calling each other "uberly cute" petnames (no pun intended) and having extreme, yet discreet "mate-tastic" roleplays? And they'd do it EVERY TIME they were on simultaneously?

At that point one would think they'd take it to a private message, right? Cuz thats what PMs are for, right? If you want to have a PRIVATE conversation with someone, send them a PRIVATE message?

TELL ME that me and a handful of other people (you know who you are) are not the only ones who really really really dislike this.

Ugh. I hate it, it was cute at first but now it's just..annoying. Whenever somebody tells them to stop they say that stupid excuse of how 'They never get to see eachother!' it's like, use private messages! There not that hard to use..

I haven't actually seen that before because I don't go into the shoutbox very often but, I do know I wouldn't like that very much. Like you stated, if you and your boi are gunna do that, do it privately! Like meh and other normal people do!

It's in the RP mostly, but on the shoutbox they add 'Sweetheart' or 'Baby' at the end of every sentance.

Yeah. I totlay hate it when people do this. I wasn't on this site when there was the mate box (and I'm probably glad I wasn't) but if people want to be all lovey with eachother, go to a different site where people care that they are in so called 'love' that will pretty much never last, or take it the the PMs where everyone doesn't have to hear about how much they say they love eachother and we all be sick.

I haven't had the 'pleasure' of seeing this yet. But I can definitely say it would annoy me too. And telling them to stop isn't working, then I guess? >.<

*ding ding ding* No. People won't listen to mods it seems like unless they are Shout Box mods, and still they hardly will. *sigh*

Ugh, those people bug me. Sometimes I wish I were a SB mod so I could crack down on those people. They're probably kids, but still, it isn't that hard to understand that it's annoying.

Well, I can't say I've seen this happen, but it sounds frickin' annoying! I can say one thing for sure though, if I'm ever made a Shout Box Mod, I'll definitely clean up! And, I just don't see the point in doing that in the first place. Come on! If you really "loved" each other, you'd stop telling each other that on a website, and go out on a date or something! Aye yi yae!

I didn't have to for this particular situation. But a while ago, we were having big problems with mods chosing to ignore the problem, hastily dealing with the problem (IE banning innocent bystanders or people who had broken no rules) coming too late to fix the problem, making the problem worse or not being there at all. And it seemed to have happened when I was around (mind you I never did and am not on the shout box very often.) and MANY other people complain about it, so I can automatically assume that this problem DOES happen often. And by the same people, or so it seems, so what could that mean?

Ugh, I hate that stuff. I have never seen it but I have seen people complain about it. (like now for instance) And I know for a fact that it would bug the crap out of me. Either take to PMs or IMs people! And that whole, "never get to see eachother thing" ummm....duh! This is an internet site, you both could live in two different countries for all we know.

Blech, same here Silent. I've never seen this happen, well, maybe the never get to see each other thing I have seen. But, yesh, this mate talk is mking me squeamish.>M<
