Okay, I havn't been in the roleplay section for a few months now, but I finally returned after two weeks. But, there's something that's been bugging me for a while. I realized that there are sooo many new topics made for roleplaying, but, some people join up on every single one, and only stick with the ones they either remember or think are cool and popular. What's up with that ? I mean, each person should only have one or two topics open ! Not several different ones in one board ! Now this might get locked, but I honestly think that people should just stick with the roleplays that interest them, and actually post on them. Who agrees with me ?

I must admit, I do do this on occassion, but it's only because of my crappy short-term memory.

I think one of the reasons is because the title of the RP might sound cool, but in the end the member might not find it as attracting as they did before joining in.

Yeah, I've noticed that too Bagel. It seems like people only join roleplays if it's about mates, or if it's a person who is well known on the site made the roleplay. I don't want to sound like I'm whining, but that ticks me off.

SF--> Yeah, I've noticed a lot of OOC language, that bugs me tooo because it's like no one even reads the guidleines or rules anymore to help them roleplay.

That's going a little too far. You see, the mods and steet are trying to make the forum for enjoyable to its members, and by restricting the amount of rps per month, that decreases the number of members who want to come on (since most are just rp'ers)

Well noticed that...but when I checked the RPGs they are often..."Lost everything and wants it back" stuff...where it leads? Mates of course xD Donk and often there are no clear plot line, if there is some persons ruin it...happened into one good RPG :<

Some nice RPGs are still on and their creators uses strong hand to sweap bad ones from good ones, some wants just mates in RPGs...xD It is boring to get a mate in a RPG then the taste of the RPG is dead since the main goal is achieved and you can eventually stop RPing in it and join into another one, then comes one or two liners xD When I write a large post, it takes time yes, when I post it I see already small fanfic of text ahead, all two liners easy to read but are pointless and god like often...xD nice or then lack of information what happens, like one character is 10 miles far and just one pops besides.
Then comes time confusions, someone's char was set off into a dreams like 5 hours and mean while two chars are talking, this 5 hours takes like a second and then char was talking with the 2 others...xD I find it annoying

Maybe it's because thier RPs stop suddenly and they start a new one just to get involved again, but it shouldn't get to the point where you can't update them all.

Ok...I admit it, I have made quite a few RPs. But I keep trying to bump 'em up and no one seems intrested, so I try to come up with an intresting idea. It does seem a bit harsh to limit it to only 3 RPs per month, since maybe someone might have an idea, but they have used up their limits. And I do bounce around from one section to another, but they RP section has always been a favorite, since I love writing. *shrugs* I've put my two cents in. *walks off to else where*

I think I've had only three rp's that have actually got over 14 posts out of maybe thirty or so, so I know when to pack it in and ask the mod to delete it. Most of the time, the topic isn't even viewed.

If you don't look at it, then you never know what it truly is.

People join at the beginning because its lots of fun.But when the RP ends and the conflict is resolved theres nothing to do.

I agree Bagel. I think that people should only have one or two topics running, and then maybe another one or so that THEY have joined. Its really hard to move on in roleplays when someone leaves. I mean, sure we can all do, but that doesn't mean we want too. I used to roleplay here, but my spirit kinda died out. Althought I love to roleplay, I just dont anymore. And alot of the roleplay (I am not sure on this) they probably only post about a line of action. A real roleplay should take you longer to write something, and it should be at least one paragraph, in my opinion.

Now dont flame me here, because I haven't been in there in a looooong time. So yeah.

But yeah, having to many roleplays that you end up FORGETTING about one (or more) or where you just decide to drop out and join one that is popular. It doesn't really help.

Something else that might help is to keep a limit on how many people join a roleplay. Normally, if I have an amount of people who I want to join a roleplay, then I will state it, and then when the roleplay is full, I will put '[Full]' in the title. That way people dont ask to join. Because if you dont put it there, and even in your topic post, people will still try. And even then, you have those people who just CANT seem to read. lawl. Anyways...

Yeah.

PS- And OOC's sometimes help, but only if you use them if nessiscary(SP?). ;D

I stopped general participation because of precisely what Panic Wolf mentioned...RPs coming to a sudden STOP, and then members simply not participating. That's infuriating! If people don't have the discipline to stick with an RP through to the end, then they shouldn't join in the first place! And if the RP topic originator drops out early, then shame on them!

Those who care about really participating in an RP, like me, who put their all into it and really try to do a good job, really get disappointed and hurt when undisciplined participants simply GIVE UP in the middle of an RP. It's not right.
