I don't know if there is already a topic like this but I want to know what you think about the combined animation in WQ. What I'm talking about is the 3D totem pole thing and also the 2D made Aleu swimming in a realistic type of water. My opinion is "No" on this one because I thought they didn't blend too well.

I agree with you. The 3-D in WQ did not blend into the backgrounds at all and were basically crap. "Rudolph and the land of Misfit Toys" had better graphics than this movie. Nothing blended together at all. The backgrounds were fine, but the pointless graphics AND the character designs did not fit together and it made me want to jab my thumbs into my eyes XD

I think that a film should strictly be either 2D or 3D. Animation does not blend well with computer animated stuff at all. Plus, it shows that less effort has been put into the movie.

I don't ENTIRELY agree with you Starsky XD Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron blended 2-D and 3-D together very nicely, I thought.

In most cases, that's true, but I can think of one exception, although I know The Prince of Egypt used computer effects, I don't know if they did 3D effects for sure... (It was on some list of movies with the most special effects used) I recall that movie being pretty good, but I don't think it went too well in Balto 2.

I've never seen that movie so I can't really comment. I just know that in Balto 2 it doesn't work.

Och aye, that film has belnded them beautifully! ^^
In WQ, the 3-D animation is beautiful, but doesn't blend in with the disgustingly animated characters at all!

I voted "no" since, in my opinion, the 2D and 3D animation didn't go well together. It was a bit TOO obvious that the animators used computer animation. And like Cat said, they did a very good job combining the 2D and 3D animation in "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron". Sadly, it didn't work well in Wolf Quest.

No, I really didn't like it... when I first saw the film, PrinceDog and I were saying, "Wha-?????" And it didn't look good at all! Looked like 2D art put over 3D computer graphics (That's what it is! ), but to the pint where it was almost lazy! The quality of the movie, knowing that those just don't match up, I think went down.
