Ok, I want to know how many people are using this name, because it's very strange that EVERYONE has decided that is the name of the same dog. It doesn't make sense, because that is NOT the official name, but everyone is using the name? WHY?

Why is this question in the Balto 2 folder?

YEAH, butwhy does EVERYONE use it?! I use the same name, but I had come up with that character ages before I joined the site, so when I heard about Juuchan's I wrote it off as a coincidence. But now EVERYONE uses that name! It's not an official name, so why does everyone HAVE to use it?! It's really sad to me that people on this site don't have any more creativity than to keep using OTHER PEOPLE'S stuff. Fortunatly, unlike everyone else's Denali, mine is different, it doesn't look like the others, because it's an origonal.

I even fell bad for cat, about 6 people are copying her right down to the username.

Yeah I feel your pain. People somehow know of Kiona more so they make sick similar names like for instance I've seen "Kiana," "Kionna," "Kianna," "Koina," (all of them are based off the red-faced pup and are oddly-enough all girls) and probably more, but it's angering me as well because people can't be creative.

exactly what I'm saying cat! Know personally I think it's one thing to have 2 people with the same charrie name, Like me and Juuchan, but our charries don't even look alike! And it's another to have 8 people claiming to have the same charrie, it's stupid! That's why I'm so proud of mine, HE'S DIFFERENT!

Totally agree with you Roxy. I've seen billions of smililar names, billions. But, I try my hardest to try to create a unique name. Kira Kira is my other balto character and also Anoka, and I didn't rip them off of any other names.

*sigh* So much for originality . . .

Well, I'm not upset about the overusage of the name "Denali"; I'm upset by the fact that no one nowadays can think up an original name for a character that officially is nameless.

Here's my advice to you all:

New people: Please, can you guys learn to create your own original name for your stories/fanart/what-have-you? Look in a name book or search dog names or baby names on the Internet, okay? It might help you out a lot!

Other people: Uh, I don't know what to say really. I have no real claim to the name "Denali" (except I do put it in Disclaimers at the beginning of my fics and copyrights of my fanarts), but the character personality that I have given him is all mine (just like Cat's "Kiona", except she has claim to both the name and the personality of the character . . . because nothing can beat the original, no matter how many people try to recreate the same character). So, yeah . . . continue to be creative and original!

And to Roxy: I didn't know that anyone else was using that name when I started using the name "Denali" (because there's no "Fan Name Registry" on the site and all), so I suppose that was a coincidence there. I guess because we've made them popular, the newbies want to make their own "Denali" too.

And I think Togo's right: One of my previous sigs had my fannames for the WQ6 (the six pups from Wolf Quest), so I suppose that's how people got the name . . . I feel bad about that, so I suppose it's all my fault for causing this "name-stealing" fiasco. But I'll stick with the name anyway.

I understand that. But this board is about the movie Balto 2: Wolf Quest...not about fan creations. Therefore, I still believe that stuff like this should be in the "Fan More" board.

Juuchan: I know, we pretty much did make that Famous, it's like a male Kiona, people are into the thing! BUT you'd think people would want to make thier charries better, by making origonals! I know people get caught up in the "Cool Charries" like our Denali's and cat's Kiona, but really people have a little respect! I mean, it's one thing to follow in a person's footsteps and to admire thier work, it's another to try and push that person down and walk in front of them, then claim what's thiers!

My characters however, I don't think they are really like other's to this site, because I don't think that anyone has done this before. Each of my characters, has a bloodline. For example, my Denali has a mate Daize, and these 2 characters have a son Diello. Diello may have a mate, Vulpix, and then produce a litter. By doing this, you never run out of origonals, and the characters are all liked together. You can also adopt and alter charries, so they are still your origonals. This makes a lot more sense to me than to steal characters. It's just a better plan.

I agree. And I noticed that people make characters' personalities the same as well. After I made Kiona (who is mentally unstable) I noticed alot of mentally unstable characters come out.

Yeah cat, I'd be really pissed if I were you, because someone copied your username, your charrie, even your avatar! I saw and just wanted to just slap that copying freak! Not to be agressive or threatning to anyone, but that really is crossing into enemy lines with me, and I don't think I'm alone here! the username was catwhohas14tails jenna! As if we don't know that's a stealer! Crazy people.

Then you obviously know nothing about the rules of creativity. And isn't this topic like really old? Since it was made in 06??
