Alright, I'm gonna play devil's advocate here. Because there are always two sides to every story.
Is it just possible that you, as a teenager, do things that set off these fights? Is it even possible for you to consider that this is the case?
And haven't we already had one topic before where you posted about your bad relationship with your parents? Or was that someone else? Because I'm pretty sure it was you.
If there is that much of a problem, perhaps family therapy is needed...rather than listening to a bunch of teenagers and kids (and one or two adults) on this site, who have NO experience as therapists.

Well my dad is an absaloute jerk, and Seppala this time I must disagree, adults have very sadly got it into their heads that every teenager lies, tells stories that are barely true and overreact, thats not every teenager, my dad is the most vile person on this planet, but gets away with it because people think that its the teenager over reacting >>.

That's not always the case, Roxas. Every situation, and every parent (and every teenager) is different. However, there are PLENTY of teenagers who are infuriating...arguing with parents because they believe they have the right to challenge (and certain rights that they don't have by reason of their age and maturity level), drug use, etc.

Well, it has been quiet a while...Last time I had an actual physical fight with my dad was about err...6 months ago...I try to avoid him as much as I possibly can...especially when he’s drunk. Just about every time I see him, he tries to start something with me. I moved out a while back to live with some friends a while back...couldn’t take his drinking much longer...Unfortunately, he is friends with the guy that owns the house I am staying in, so he basically comes and goes when he wants...Been having some really bad problems with him lately because of something he found out (I wont say on here, if you know me...you know what it is)...I've really kind of started to adjust to it all...needless to say though, I am so glad I am going to be moving FAR FAR away in a year.

Man, this is all alien to me. I mean, I had my differences with my dad when I was a teenager, and a young adult. But not only were my parents very supportive and always happily married, but I also got along with my father plenty enough! And my differences with my dad NEVER came to blows!
I don't get all this...I know it HAPPENS, but I just wonder about how people who can't manage to keep it together actually find a way to breed and create more misery...(and how their kids, to be fair, can also create misery)...

...My case kind of sucks...a lot of the "stuff" started when my mom and dad split up, I was probably about 7 or 8...he started drinking...ALOT...Started getting abusive when I turned 11...He will go in and out of jail, and get mad at me if I don’t go to see him...but, can you blame me...He still managed to say "I love you" and that "He cared"...only to become abusive either verbally, or physically days later. The last time we fought, was...I think about 6 months or 7 months ago. He came over and started arguing with a few of my friends, and started getting a bit racist. For the first time I told him what I really thought of him...I told him how sick it made me feel, just sharing a blood line with him, and that I don’t want to be ANYTHING like him what so ever when I get older. He didn’t take that to well, pushed me through the kitchen door...had to go to the hospital with bits of glass stuck in my back...anyways, like I said...I will never be anything like him...EVER...that’s my promise to everyone, and to myself.

My dad used to always yell at us so one day we just got up and walked up, we went to a shelter for 'Abused woman and their kids' until they got us an airplane to go to Winnipeg [where I am now] where we lived with my moms friend for a bit in their small townhouse then moved to our own. My dad comes over about 3 or 4 times a year [My birthday, Christmas, Summer holidays and Spring break] and in the summer after he left from our house, my mom sent us [me, my sister and my friend] to Calgary [Where he lives] on a bus, he made ME do everything, go to the store, cook, clean, do the dishes and when I didnt he hit me with a guitar or yelled in my face until I did do something Whenever he comes here my older sister can't come here and it's a guarantee that he'll get into at least 2 fights with my mom and atleast 10 with my sister, my mom just leaves and my sister calls the police, it gets that bad..We used to live in a big house with him and now he lives in an apartment by himself, he makes 40$ an hour but has nothing to show for it, he spends it on drugs, alcohal and smokes or whatever..it sometimes even gets so bad that he has to borrow money from my MOM! [who, by the way is still in school and doesn't have a job]........so I dont know about him.....
