I think that people should be able to advertise their fanfics and fanarts.
e.g. (i'll use my fic for exaple.)

i don't actually know how to do it, but it is just an idea.

In a way you can do this. You could put stuff like that in your signature for example.

advertising on signatures is a very good idea.
i was actually thinking about having little adverts on both sides of Balto Source page. i've seen some sites like that but i can't think of one right now.

Maybe it could be like the screen shots in the upper corner every page on balto source, not including the forums. Everytime you refresh the page, a new fanfic or fanart, wichever steet wants to use, will be advertised in one corner of the page. But, what might be a downside is that it will slow down the loading of the site. I'm not sure if it will but, it is possible. Good idea!

I've seen something similar on another forum, except the links were to sites related to the matter of the forum, but I'm not sure, really... How would anyone choose which ones to post and which ones not to post?

I mean how would Steet (the webmaster) determine which fanfics to advertise on the site? Money? Ratings? What?

the same thng how he decded which fics to post on the ste or not.
i think there must be a programme where someone can make a link. so the authors or artsits of fics will make the advertising and then they will send the advertising to steet

I think the best ways to advertise your fanfics etc, is in your signature on the forums, and on your profile on the site.
I can't really add anything more on the main site page because it's already crowded. Maybe in the future when I'll increase the site resolution, but for now it would be difficult.
If you mean showing a random fanart, fanfic etc on the main page, the "Random" page is there for that.
