*Not to be confused with Bull riding*
Bull fighting is a sport in which a man (the matador) teases a massive bull. He angers it, and causes it to become aggressive. Then, he begins stabbing it with spears. Eventually, when the animal is exhausted and the crowd becomes bored, the matador runs the bull through the heart with a sword and kills it. The crowd goes wild.
The running of the bulls consists of releasing several dozen bulls from inferior stock out into the streets. People run among the confused animals (while trying to NOT get gored) and tie ribbons around their horns and throw rocks and garbage on them, trying to entice the animals into aggression. Spears and swords are thrown into the animals once they become upset and eventually, they, too are killed. This is done out of shear pleasure of watching something die.
WTF is wrong with people? Why do they have such a bloodlust? Why do they get pleasure out of watching something die? Out of torturing something to the point of exhaustion? Are people really so creul and evil? It seems that way.
I'm really starting to lose all faith in humanity...people disgust me to no end.

Okay...but at least we EAT the meat products we kill. The bulls are not eaten, but have their dead bodies defiled. And the meat produce is killed quickly and HUMANLY. The bulls are brutally tortured before being killed. So, rethink your conclusion...

*SIGH*. People have been doing this for centuries. And while it may not be pleasant to conceive of a raging bull being teased and then slowly killed in that sport, the species is still alive and thriving.

So...that makes it okay? Well, then, since the human race is a 'thriving species', it'll be cool to just take a random person and torture it to death in front of a crowd, right?
And, hey, since we're talking about things that have been done for centuries, why not continue doing what the Pageans used to do? Let's sacrafice our children to a stone statue and then eat them.
And you can say 'Well, we're humans! That's different!' Guess what? A life is a life; none more important then another. I don't care how thriving a species it... it's not okay to torture ANYTHING!!!

Okay, there's no talking to someone like you. You're just a teenager who thinks she's got her thumb on the pulse of the world. And that's begging for trouble. Because you really have no idea...
...I suggest deep-breathing, relaxation exercises, and stop listening to PETA freaks.

No problem there. I'm done with this. I'm just going to keep an eye out, and discuss her attitude with my fellow mods. If this gets out of hand, locking the thread will likely be the first course.

Wow, I knew of the running the bulls through the streets, but not the killing part... that's just sickening...
It's kind of like in 19th and early 20th century France, where they would parade on Mardi Gras, and a cow would lead the parade, and when the cow reached the end of the parade, they would kill the cow and cook the meat and stuff because it was the day before Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. Now, of course, they don't do that because they have packaged meat and all that stuff...

So caring for animals means I'm a freak, then? Fine. Forget this thread. And this site.
BaltoSeppala, you should really work on your attitude. A short temper makes a poor mod.
Peace out, Balto Source!

There is a huge difference between caring for animals and believing an extremist organization like PETA. Especially when said organization funds and supports illegal activities.

I just want it to be known that I DON'T beleive in PETA. So, I don't even want to be compared to them.
