[Balto, Complete] So wrong, but it feels so right [Part 1]

Slyth suddenly got a sniff of a familiar scent. His cheeks lifted into a wide smile as soon as he recognized it. Then the figure came into sight as they trotted closer and closer to her. Then her voice rang out into his ears. He couldn't help but blush slightly at what she was implying. He simply kept following Saba and stopped once they reached her. Blitz. . . "Hay, what are you doing up? I thought you would have gone to sleep by now." He glanced up at the moon illuminating them. He turned from Saba and took a step toward the fea before him. Leaning over her shoulder, toward her ear he whispered; "I wan't to talk to you alone okay. When ever you want. Now, or later" then gave her ear a small affectionate nibble.
Stepping back, his eyes remained on her black and grey pelt until their eyes met. Hers seemed to sparkle, even in this dim light.

Storm made his way through the forests outside Nome, he enjoyed coming here, got him away from all the chaos and smiled and stood on a tall mountain, and shut his eyes feeling the soft breeze stokr the fur on his cheeks,like a mothers caring hand.

The black and gray pelted fae grinned and laughed easily again. "I tried getting a little rest in, but I just couldn't manage to stay asleep. I felt, restless...and I just couldn't force myself to sit still." Pausing as Slyth moved toward her and whispered into her ear, she felt a brow raise a bit higher as he requested to speak with her privately, and was even more confused when he nibbled a little on her ear. When he stepped back, her blue eyes finally met his and at first, she didn't know what to say, so she simply nodded her head silently, trying not to give away any feelings of surprise or others.

"Sure," her voice finally sounded in her ears. She glanced up at the moon, then down at the fresh layer of snow, glittering like miniature jewels, doing all she could to avoid his eyes again for now. 'Remember, you swore. Don't go backing out on something you've already made up your mind about. You made a promise, even if it was only to yourself and no one else heard it.' She felt like stabbing her conscience, but couldn't at the time being.

"Hmm, but it is awfully late, what time do you both have to be home? I know my human is used to me wandering the streets at all hours, and I'll more than likely be up for at least a couple more hours, but how will your humans, and Jenna and Balto feel? How late can you guys stay out without worrying them?" There was a small hint of concern in her voice, but she had also managed to somewhat answer Slyth's question with the information she'd provided.

Great, ive got plenty of time. At least a few hours at least. I don't think i'll need more than maybe an hour. An hour and a half at most. his eyes remained on Blitz's for a few more moments, even after she had looked away, before he turned his gaze to the moon which she had just looked up at. It wasn't quite a full moon yet. He was sure it would be by next week though. Though he rarely paied much attention to the moon, he was sure Blitz looked up at it at least once or twice a night. For some reason, Slyth suddenly started picturing what Blitz's bed must look like. Possibly a cushion like what he slept on. Nestled against the wall or in a corner, probably with a decent view out of a window so that the moon was visible even while indoors. All she had to do was look up or. . .lay on her back. . .

He shook himself from his thoughts. They were starting to get off track, and into certian fields that he didnt know why he was thinking about. Focusing his attention back on the fea infront of him, he watched her movements. Smooth and graceful. As a runner, she was in very good shape. And since she seemed to be doing something just about all the time, he figured she didnt eat so much anyway. Then, realizing she'd asked a question that still hadn't been answered he hastily answered her. "Well, I dunno about any specific time, but dad usually wants up home by the time the moon is out like right now." Raising his head up, he glanced up at the bright orb in the sky.

Sometimes, his thoughts could be very random. Right then, he realized he had his throat exposed. If someone wanted to kill him, this would be their opportune moment. Mentally laughing he looked back down at Blitz. "But mom wants us home by time they go to bed. Which is basically the same time, only worded differently." Shrugging he looked to Saba, then back at Blitz. Why can't i just decide on one? If i could do that, i wouldn't have to bother with all this. I swear, im sure if i were mates with Blitz, i'd probably be having thoughts like this about Saba. . .maybe. . .

Nodding, she moved her eyes back onto Slyth's handsome face and casually glanced over him, hiding it as if she were moving her eyes simply back down to the ground. She breathed evenly, trying not to betray the thoughts running rampant in her mind. Slyth was very well built for a husky his age, the muscle balancing out evenly underneath the fur. His paws were indeed large from his father's genes, almost the same size as Blitz's, but their size was complimented by the rest of his physique nicely. She was almost surprised he hadn't been placed onto some sort of sled team himself.

Blitz blinked and pushed those thoughts from her head again. Why had she started thinking about that again, especially at a time like this, after Slyth had clearly revealed his love for Saba? Why had her mind gone back to her own conflicting feelings, when Saba was standing right next to Slyth? Cursing herself inwardly once more, she nodded, a smile still lingering on her face. "Mm hmm...I see. Well, would you like me to walk with you both back home? I'll be up for at least two more hours, possibly more, so it won't be any trouble."

Once we get to the house, I can wait outside for Saba to settle in, then Slyth can come out and we'll talk. But what could he want to talk to me about? Perhaps it's about how to keep their secret quiet...or... She blinked, surprised at herself and thought again furiously, No, that's not possible, don't even think anything like that. You already know for a fact that he's chosen Saba. Don't even pretend to yourself that he might have the faintest feeling toward you. Her blue eyes moved back up to his, then over to Saba's face, but not her eyes, and finally back to rest on his for a moment, awaiting their answer, with what she hoped was a look of friendly indifference.

Though Slyth knew what he had to say to her later on tonight would probably be a bit of a surprise for Blitz, he knew he had to control himself. Just because he and Blitz were going to be alone didn't me he was free to. . . .well, that was partially Blitz's decision as well. . . No, he had to limit what they were going to be doing to talking. If he started having an affair with Saba on the same night they'd gotten together, what would that say about what kind of dog he was? Unless things didn't go well between him and Saba, these thoughts would have to stay in his mind.

Briefly, he wondered if Blitz might be feeling something for him. But it was only just. She offered to accompany them on their way back home. This would only help him and Saba appear to be just brother and sister. Blitz could walk on his left, and Saba on his right. . . wow, he hoped this wasn't how he was going to act while alone with Blitz. Something about being in the presance of both Saba and Blitz had some effect on his mind. "I think that would be fine. I mean, what else have you got to do right now?" He raised an eyebrow at her and smircked at her. But a second too late, he realized how stupid this was.

Biting his lower lip, he blushed slightly in embarrasment and nudged Saba forward. Starting up their slow walk again, Slyth looked over his shoulder at Blitz.

Max had been at home trying to sleep but he couldnt he was to awake from everything he couldnt sleep he was just laying on his back bored and tiredless so he started to the door not making a sound and started out walking around trying to get himself tired so he could go back and fall asleep so he walked around the town hoping to find something to get him tired and fall asleep not passing Slyth, Saba, or Blitz on the way

Raising her own brow at him as he smirked at her, she pondered his look and statement for a second before she too smirked and laughed, covering up his embarrassment and hopefully any thoughts that Saba might have as if he'd just made a funny joke. "Well, that's true, I don't have much else better to do, since most people, and dogs, are asleep by now." She watched him blush and hoped that she'd assuaged some of his embarrassment at little, then began walking on his other side after he'd looked back at her.

On their way to the house, she tried to keep her gaze in front of her, or on her other side, save when she was spoken to by either Slyth or Saba. Luckily, they hadn't spoken too much so far, so she hadn't had to return her gaze to either one of them and was able to try and concentrate on keeping the thoughts of betrayal of her promise out. Unfortunately, she'd failed miserably thus far on most attempts at stemming the thoughts, mainly because they all related back to Slyth in some form or other.

Why can't I get these thoughts out of my head? He doesn't like me like that, he loves Saba, he's always loved Saba. Whatever feelings I had fro him have been entirely one sided, so what's the point of even pursuing the matter any longer? There's no way that whatever he and I talk about tonight will have anything to do with the way I've felt about him. No possible way. He doesn't even know that... She shook her head and yawned, hoping that they would make it to their house soon so that whatever he needed to say could be said. Then hopefully she could rid herself of these ridicules thoughts.

Slyth could see out of the corner of his eye that Blitz seemed to be having alot going on in her head. She seemed troubled by something, and she kept glancing over at him as well. He wondered just what it was that she was thinking. Had Saba not been there he probably would have asked her. But for the time being, he'd have to keep it to himself. He wondered if, by her frequent glances at him, her thoughts had anything to deal with him. Or maybe it was just this silence that made her look around. But strangly, she was only looking straight ahead, and turning her eyes to look at him.

He turned his head toward Saba and could tell she seemed to be getting sleepy. Stepping closer to Saba, he let her lean against him. In case she dozed off before they reached their home. Licking her neck once, he turned his head around toward Blitz and grinned slightly at her. "I think Saba here is about to fall asleep on her paws"

Walking down the path of snow, he made his way, keeping too the shadows right now the darkness was suiting his mood. He closed his eyes and sighed slowly and smirked softly. He made his way down the rocks and looked through the trees. He coughed and sneezed coldly and shivered. He hated this cold, but he had too keep going, he didn't know why or how, but he had too do it, he was searching for something. He couldn't understand what though. He slowly moved closer towards an openning in a cave and came out the other side, with wide open space, clear skies and many trees, but did not see any other animals, he sighe dwith happiness, he could stay here, forever.

True, Saba was, but, after she'd heard Slyth, she blinked her eyes slightly open, biting her lower lips a bit she glanced at the gorund. It always embarassed her, of course, I mean, she really had no other way to react. However, she had noticed a thing or two about Slyth and Blitz, always seeing how they glanced atr one another.

After a moment, coming back to what was happening, she stood up, a little ditzy looking by how her legs looked like they had been turned to jelly as she walked, she leaned just so slightly, in case she might fall asleep again.

Giggling a little at Slyth's joke, she watched as he supported her and she leaned lightly on him as she walked on. They did make such a good couple. How could she let her own feelings come between them? Besides, she'd already sworn to herself that she wouldn't let anything destroy their happiness, no matter what cost it took.

The hybird smiled to herself as she watched the two of them and then her nose prickled as she caught their scents on a building just ahead, and the scents of Storm, Max, Balto and Jenna as well. "So I guess this is you guys, right?" she asked them both, stopping in front of the house and seating herself next to the porch. "Guess I'll see you both tomorrow, if the whole town hasn't driven me out by then. We can talk about how to hide your secret then I guess. And Slyth, about what you asked me before," she hesitated, thinking of how to word this so that Saba didn't think she was having some sort of affair with him, "I think the best time would be whenever you're ready."

She smiled and winked to both of them and then said once more, "I'll see you later, 'night," before standing and trotting into the alley behind the house, presumably off somewhere to quell her restlessness. She halted behind the house, sitting again and perking her ears, listening intently for them to enter and then, hopefully if Slyth got what she meant, for him to exit.

Slyth turned his head back to Saba and rested it ontop of her own. He had to admit, he was getting a little drowzy himself. But he still wanted to talk to Blitz. All he'd need is a quick drink of water. That should keep him awake long enough to talk with her. He could feel Saba stumbling every now and then, indicating that she was only barely awake. It was a good thing that they had reached home just then.

"Okay. I guess i'll see you later Blitz. 'night" He winked at her then gave the half asleep Saba a nudge forward threw the dog door. After watching her walk into an alley beside the house, he followed her threw, he helped her across the room to her own cushion bed, and layed her down. Licked her a few times and said "I've got to sleep in my own bed okay. Don't want mom or dad to come down and find us. . .okay. Good night Saba" the licked her cheek once again. After getting a drink of water, he layed down on his own black cushion.

Just to be sure that Saba was asleep before he left. He waited a few minutes, curling up against the soft fabric. Just waiting and trying to remain awake. He almost dozed off once but only just. Finally, at long last, Slyth felt that Saba must be awake now so he silently got up. As quite as he could, made his way over to the door and, with a glance at his sister(and mate's) sleeping form, jumped threw the dog door.

Breathing out a sigh, he shook himself then walked slowly down the porch steps. Walking around to the alley he'd seen Blitz go down, he called out her name. Not yelling, but more of a quiet call. "Blitz? Blitz where are-" He rounded the building and came nose to nose with Blitz. He could feel her own agains his, causing him to blush. He took a step back to give them some space between them. "Uhh, there you are"

Max was still walking around but half way through he did start getting sleepy so he started in the way that he thought was home, he couldnt keep his eye's open so he found himself walking into things, no where near home he gave up and layed on a trash bag he found on the side way looking like he passed out ,which he didnt, he fell asleep the second he hit the bag with only a hope that no body walked by him through the night thinking he was dead because when he hit the bag red paint came out on his fur and on the street

Storm started too explore the area off the new land, wondering if there were any animals apart from him, I mean he couln't be the only animal in this area. He sniffed the snow on the ground, he could not pick up any signs of life, he thought this was rather puzzling but he shrugged it off and kept going.
