Sydney walked home, and then slumped down on the couch, heaving a sigh.

.::The next day, at School::.

Scotty, Leann and Adam stood at their lockers talking amongst themselves, Adam was looking for Sydney.

Sydney stood at her locker, half way down the hall from Scotty's. She was pulling out her books when Jenny came up behind her.
"Leave. Adam. Alone. He's mine." She growled, walking off, leaving Sydney with a bad feeling.

Scotty noticed Jenny say something to Sydney, "Adam, I think there's trouble brewin'..." Adam didn't understand but he saw Jenny walking of and then he understood.

Sydney shut her locker quietly, watching Jenny strut down the hallway. Suddenly, she was concerned for her own safety. What would she do to get out of this?

Adam walked down the hall and came up to Sydney. "Sydney? You okay?" he asked.

Sydney jumped, and turned to look at Adam, forcing a smile.
"Yeah, why?" She asked, clutching her books close to her chest.

"We saw Jeniffer talking to you..." he replied.

"Oh..well..it's nothing." Sydney said, smiling again, fainter this time though.

Adam didn't believe that but he wasn't going to pry on the topic. "Okay..." he smiled then asked "Can I walk you to class?"

"Sure." Sydney said with a genuine smile, turning off in the direction of her class. "As long as you don't accidently fall on me."

Adam laughed sheepishly "Like I said, it was an accident... it was Leann's fault."

"Mhmm.. Well, this is like, my class so.." Sydney chimed, with a small laugh.

Adam stopped "Alright... um, I'll see ya later." he said with a smile, trying to decide if he should kiss her goodbye.

"Kay..bye then.." Sydney said, deciding he wasn't going to kiss her, so she turned and walked int othe classroom.
