"Well, there was this race between the bush plane and mail dog," Kodi said. "And the plane crashed during the race. No one else wanted to go after Duke, the pilot. So Dad went alone. The mail team did eventually go after him, but only after he had made a make-shift sled and dragged Duke halfway back to Nome."

Ana yawned and soon fell asleep, her head on Rose's back.
Aleu smiled, she loved hearing that song so much, it was one of the fondest memories she had, their father singing them to sleep with it.
