"A few hours." Nate said, looking over at her, from where he sat next to Dallas on the floor. He looked at her curiously.

Bethany sat up and rubbed her eyes, "Oh.." She mutter, suddenly her phone rang. The words on the front screen flashed Nick's name. She held her breathe and answered the phone.

"Where the h*ll are you?!" Nick voice snarled from the other end of the line, as soon as she answered, before she could speak, he snarled: "I don't care... Just get you a** home, you useless little b*tch." he then hung up without another word.

"Love you too..." Bethany said sadly as the line went dead. She sighed, her shoulders slumping. Her eyes traveled to Jeffery on the floor and her dull eyes somehow just became duller. She couldn't do it anymore, she knew Nick would give her a world of trouble when she got home, but she couldn't be alone.

"Come on Jeffy, time to go." She said with a sighed.

"Doggie!" Jeffery barked stubbornly.

"No, no. Daddy wants us home, right now." She said, using baby talk to hide the pain in her voice.

Nate blinked at her, something was strange, but she hid it well. He stood up and looked at her worriedly. "I guess this is, Goodbye Beth." he said smiling at Jeffery. "See ya buddy."

Dallas whimpered but Nate ignored him.

Bethany nodded, "Here, call me sometime. We didn't get to talk much because I fell asleep -sorry about that- But i'd love to catch up." She said, handing him a small piece of paper it with her number on it. It was weird, she felt like a teenager again.

Nate smiled, "I will..." he grabbed a price of paper and scrawled a number onto it and gave it to her. "And if you ever need me before then, you call." he said with a smile.

Bethany nodded, collected Jeffery, then ducked out of the nice house. When she returned home, she realized just how small her little house was. Bethany frowned, closing the door behind her and setting down Jeffery for a nap before Nick got to her.

At first the house was quiet. But when Beth came out of Jeffery's room. Nick appeared fron practically no where. He grabbed her and slammed her against the walk, pressing himself against her, to pin her. "Where the h*ll where you?!" he snarled, clearly drunk.

Bethany squeaked, the blood roaring in her ears. "We went to Build-A-Bear, th-then I ran into Sofie. We got to talking and Jeffery was playing with my phone. I-I wasn't paying attention to the time." She lied easily.

He was quiet for a moment: "You're lying..." he growled. He drug her beck to their bedroom, running on nothing more than drunken rage. He slammed the door and threw her onto the bed, he climbed onto her and pinned her there. "Tell me the truth!" he snarled.

Bethany almost screamed, she whimpered helplessly, feeling cold settle in her veins, "I'm not lying!" She insisted, tears coming to her eyes, "Nick, please stop. Please." She sniffled.

"Shut your mouth!" he boomed, trying to violently pull her up and accidentally tearing her blouse open. That only frustrated the drunk more, he again pinned her wrists to the bed. "I dunno were you really where... But you can't get away from me..." he clutched both wrists in one hand and held them to the bed. "You're mine... No one'll want a girl whose already soiled. Who's already a mother..." he hissed, running his hand down her side, it was apparent what he wanted, because he attempted to undo her jeans.

Bethany whimpered, but didn't resist him, "I wasn't seeing anyone Nick, I wasn't..." She said, her voice weak. Bethany couldn't resist him even if she tried. But, in all truth, she didn't mind. Well, at least, she told herself she didn't mind Nick's wanting for her. She stared at the ceiling aimlessly, her mind wondering to Nate. He seemed different, sadder. Maybe he just noticed how sad she was and it rubbed off on him. Bethany hoped not, she didn't want to mess up anyone else's life.

*Fades to black*

Early the next morning, a storm roared wildly outside, shaking the house to it's core. Nick had finished, gotten dress, and staggered off. So the house was quiet, and for awhile, safe.
