Cheyanne snapped at him and shoved her nose to his. "What was I suppose to do? I've never been taught how to help when that happens, because it never happened in my family." she growled, staring in his eyes. "Tell me what I was suppose to do." she squinted, pushed her nose closer to his. Waiting for him to tell her. "Well?"

"Mommy?" a female voice said. It was Shaint. Cheyanne whipped her head back. "What?"
"Why are you yelling?"

Sapphire heard a she-wolf barking but kept her eyes on the injured wolf and his attackers. (i know they aren't but i wont her to think that they are.) "Where are they going?" she said to her self.

Markus pushed Cheyanne's nose away from his with his paw.

"Still! You could have at least gotten help! But no, you just ran and hid and left him there! When I found him I didn't know what to do either, but at least I had the decency to send Rukii to get help! At least I DID something!"

Cheyanne snarled, "Who was I suppose to get to help. My kids couldn't do it, Marshall wasn't here, and Loki's gone hunting. Who was I suppose to get, his dead mother?" Cheyanne barked.

Shinso, Markus, and Rukii all jaw-dropped at that outright offense.

"How dare you talk about our mother that way!" Markus shouted.

"How could you say that? She was our mother! And you have no idea what we went through as pups when we lost her!" Rukii added.

"Watch your mouth. Our mother has nothing to do with this. That was completely uncalled for."

"STOP IT! ALL OF YOU!" Zasshu shouted. "It's not... Cheyanne's fault..." he said a bit quieter, still dizzy and with chest pains, his vision spinning.

Cheyanne huffed, and whispered under her breathe, "A**..." turning to her pups she licked Murr and Klondike's small faces. Klondike raised his small paws and placed them on Cheyanne's nose.

Three days went by, and Zasshu's condition only worsened. He hadn't been able to get up from where he was since the ordeal started, and he could barely hold down and water or food that was given to him. With each passing moment his chest hurt even more, not to mention after each set of heart palpitations that passed him over, the next ones seemed to only get worse and worse. By now, after three whole days with no improvement in his deteriorating health, Zasshu knew: he was dying. He had come close to death before, but had always escaped death's door. But not this time. This was really it. Zasshu knew for a fact that he was going to die.

I'm changing the pup with white paws' name. Instead of Shaint her name will be Ghost.


Loki had come back with a hare and dropped it at Cheyanne's feet. "Go away. I don't need you any more." she said, a deep growl formed in her throat as she sat up on her haunches. "What?" he asked, his eyes widened. "I said, go away. Get as far away from here as possible. I don't need you anymore." Loki eyes lowered then moved towards the pups. Her would take one with him. He picked a girl. Zasha. Cheyanne nodded in grief as he picked her up slowly and began to walk off. "Bye." he said.

Cheyanne was left with Ghost, Murr, Klondike, Lewis, and Simon. Cheyanne curled up next to Zasshu and her pups soon followed and curled beside her.

"..." Zasshu had seen the whole thing, and was quite confused. But when Cheyanne curled up next to him, he felt a warmth and comfort fill him that he was sure he'd never get to feel again. He closed his eyes and smiled. As much as he had gone through and as sick as he was, getting to feel this one last time before he died made it all worth it.

"What was that about?" Zasshu asked quietly. "Not that it's my business... but... I'm just asking. I've never seen you snap at Loki before." Zasshu was still strong enough to speak. Zasshu was never weak. Even on his death bed, he was strong.

"I didn't need him anymore. When you wasn't here, he just talked badly about you. I tried not to listen but it started getting annoying. So I told him to get out. Besides, everything he said about you wasn't true. Or made up. ' Cheyanne moved her head closer to his and licked his cheek.

"What has he said about me?" Zasshu asked out of curiosity, as one of Cheyanne's pups approached him and started sniffing him and nipping at his ear.

"He said I was too good for you. That you were just a low-class wolf with a puny pack. I thought most of it bullsh*t, ya know, because it was."

"My pack may have been small, but every wolf in it had the purest of hearts. And purity of heart is what truly makes a pack strong. I only left because I didn't want to lose you, and because I didn't trust that Loki would truly take care of you the way you deserve. My heart told me to follow you, even though you..." Zasshu closed his eyes, trying not to remember the pain he had felt then.

"Cheyanne... I need to ask you something." he said softly. "I don't understand... why you left me. Did I do something wrong? What did I do to make you not love me anymore? Please, I need to know. Why?"

Sapphire saw all the wolves arguing, then saw a wolf take a she-wolf's pup. "How could she let that wolf take her pup." Sappy said to her self, then she saw the she-wolf curl herself around the injured wolf and then so did her pups. "Awww." she said lying down to get some rest from watching the wolves.

"I never stopped loving you Zasshu, I just, I needed something different for a change. I regret it. But these pups will grow up with you as a father." Cheyanne smiled, trying to shake off the fact the he could die any given moment. Maybe that would motivate him to get up she thought, I hope.

Loki carried the pup away, he caught a glimpse of Sapphire and growled. He dropped the pup and it let out a yelp. He followed Sapphire's eyes and tried to make out what she was looking at. Cheyanne's den he thought, who cares? It isn't my territory anymore.
