Katie walked into the clearing but stopped at the edge to leave the group mourn in peace.

With a fingure twitch, Jocelyn opened her eyes slowly, seeing Cassie infront of her. She looked at the lynx and tried to smile... but failed. Just behind her, she could see a new girl and knew that they had listened to her. She nodded at Erin and her eyes flashed to a blonde form that was at the far left of the clearing. Her lower lip began to trembled but she forced herself to not to begin to tremble. She tried to move her legs, but she couldn't feel anything below the waist. They broke her spine. Reaching out towards the blone heep of fur that had once been her younger brother, she whimpered, wishing to be with him. And with that last sound, her eyes closed and she grew still.

Erin morphed into human then entered the clearing after Cassie. "Cassie, what's-?" her sentence broke as she stared horrified at Jocelyn's broken an dlifeless body. Erin ran to Jocelyn, her eyes already filled with tears that escaped her violet eyes and ran down her cheeks. "Jocelyn," she said softly between sobs. Jocelyn had stopped breathing, her body mostly covered in blood. "No..." Erin whisped, filled with grief and a little bit of rage for the people who had done this to her.

Cassie, still a lynx, yowled with rage. Her breathing pattered was heavy and burdened, the loss of another person seemed too much to bear. She had never known her parents. She was cast out of the orphanage for being a were-animal. She had left kind Ms. Whelts. Dakota had betrayed the group. And now Jocelyn was dead. Eyes shining with anguish, Cassie turned tail and bolted into the forest, as far away from the scene as possible.

"Cassie? Where are you going? CASSIE!" Ben called, but his cries where lost as she disappeared into the forest beyond. "No," He murmured nearly inaudibly, more tears welling up and washing his dirt-streaked face.

Erin sank slowly to the ground, mindless of the surroundings. Tears fell freely, dripping down her dirty face and onto the leaf-strewn ground. Her face was striped, the tears leaving tracks iin their wake. She felt like this was to much to bear, all that had happened in a matter of a few days. She stared at Jocelyn's body, unable to tear her gaze away. Her viosion was hazy, blurred by tears, warping everything in sight. Erin blinked, tears cascading more as she did so. Her violet eyes were tainted red, her dark hair framing her face like a curtain, hiding her from veiw and seperating her from the world even more.

After searching the place cody had said to look he found the medical supplies. he grabbed them and ran off to the group, but as soon as he got close enough he smelled blood, his eyes widened, he followed the scent, he got to them shortly after, he looked down and saw Jocelyn, "What happened to her?" Sevrin asked them

Erin tried to speak, but let out fresh sobs instead. "Jocelyn-" She managed to say brokenly through sobs. "She-" Erin wasn't able to finsih the sentence, saying the words would only make it more real and heart wrenching. The twist in her spine seemed obvious, as did the blood drenched clothes and the glazed and empty look in her eyes. Noting this through tears made Erin sob all the harder, tears flooding down her cheeks, dappling her clothes and the ground.

Cody cried his first tear for the group right at that moment while morphing to his human form and said "She got killed by a couple of wolves. I couldn't go anywhere but the group did. They left me alone with Jocelyn and I could have died because I am utterly defenseless." (can't forget about the beat up body of his; he has ripped skin all over his body with a crushed throat)

Sevrin sighed heavily, Sevrin then went over to Cody, "Alright cody i'm here, let me see your wounds," Sevrin examined his wounds, "For the love of all things that are Pure(No pun intened)" Sevrin said, "Alright Cody your treatment is going to be really really painfuly," Sevrin grabbe some items out of the kit he got. "Alright we are going to need to treat it for infections, sew up your wounds, wrap it up, and for you throat we are going to need to expand it a bit, you will be unable to fight once i'm done. we can 't afford to have you dead, you've been a great friend to end up dead."

Erin didn;t get how Sevrin didn't even seem to notice that Jocelyn was dead, how he acted like nothing had happened. She wiped away a tear, she had actually ran out of moisture, but not grief. She felt hollow. SHe had left Jocelyn, if she had stayed, she wouldn't of been dead, it was all her fault.

Sevrin could feel like Erin had a problem with him not reacting with Jocelyn's death he sighed, "Erin, the reason i didn't react to her death is that...i've seen it all before...yeah it hurts, i just can't show it," Sevrin took a deep breath, "A few years ago i've killed me friends when we went hiking, i without knowing was a were-fox, i lost me mind, whatever i saw i saw them as my enemy," Sevrin grabbed the items he need to fix up Cody, he used the preoxide on a cloth and dabbed at the wounds, "I still see the images in my head...I repress all the things that do with death, she was real helpful, i give her that, she was brave enough to let us escape as best we can," Sevrin continued, "I'm sorry if it shocked you that i don't react to it, it's just i've seen so many deaths before my eyes, that it hurts but no tears come out,"

Erin was a bit shocked about Sevrin's history, but not totally unprepared. "So just because you've seen death before, does that mean it doesn't mean anything to you? You can't feel any sorrow?" she asked, now filled with anger. She was truly mad at the people who had done this to Jocelyn, but she ha to take it out on someone, and Sevrin was conviently nearby. Not waiting for an answer from him, she morphed int a panther and ran off, wanting to be alone, and away fromJocelyn;s twisted body. Erin ran until her paws hurt, then collapsed against a tree, moprhing into a human and crying again. Why was my life fille with betrayel and misery? Erin asked herself silently.

Katie watched the group and sighed. She didn't know these people, but she felt a ting of sadness as Erin ran off. Slowly, she approached the broken body of Jocelyn, and morphed into a human. "Something tells me you weren't supposed to be there," she said to Cody. "Not to affend you, but she probably gave up her life for you..." she said, trailing off. She said all this while looking into Jocelyn's blank eyes. With a small fingure, Katie rached over to Jocelyn's eyelids and clossed them. "Atleast, that's what I saw in her eyes..."

Cassie heaved great sobs, sounding more like wails coming from her catlike throat. Nothing seemed safe anymore....nothing. It seemed that nearly every friend she met slipped through her fingers...well, paws...in one way or another. There where only a few exceptions...Ben, Erin, a few of the other group members. And the realization that she had just run away from them made the situation only more unbearable. She raised her head slightly, quieting as she heard leaves crackle behind her. She turned, eyes still glistening with tear-like substance. She saw what looked like a black panther dart through the woods, fall against a tree, and...morph. "Erin..." Thought Cassie, treading slowly and as silently as possible closer. "Erin," She mewed softly, trying but failing to heard the sadness away from her voice.

Erin raised her head at the sound of Cassie's vioce, and brushed her dark hair out of her face, tears still streaming down her face. She looked at Cassie, unsure of what to say, or if she could even say anything at the moment. Finally she spoke. "Why does this happen?" she asked, her vioce hoarse and hollow sounding. Erin had been asking herself the question in her mind, why did this happen? Betrayel, death, pain, that's what it seemed her life consisted of for righ now.

Cassie's voice took on an angry, sarcastic tone. "Because we're were-animals, doomed to live suckish lives discriminated from others, our only companions being vampires," She spat. Then the melancholy sounds returned. "Others of our kind, or just our friends, are murdered in front of us to cause us misery. Only were-animals in alliance with Dakota or others survive." She clawed at the ground furiously.

Ben just stared numbly where the were-lynx had disappeared. As upsetting as the loss of Jocelyn had been, for him, this was far worse. Tears continued to cascade down his face, collecting in a puddle beneath him. He began to walk in that direction, then broke into a run.
