I knew this topic was going to get locked sooner or later. But everybody on the first page was so nice. Even though you don't agree you still shouldn't be rude.

What I ment to say is that, it's not right in my eyes, but it is nessessary..I agree that mice and rats are no different then dogs and cats, but I think it is better that they test on them instead, because there is way more of them...and..I dont know if this is true or not but I think that they only use the sick/hurt animals for testing, and it still doesnt make it right, because they still should have a change at getting healthy again..but I think that it's better if they use dogs/cats or stuff that are due to be put down, because I think that putting them down is worse then testing stuff on them...so if there going to put them down, they might as well use them for testing or something first...but I still dont approve of it..because I think it's disgusting..and for the people that test on cosmetics..I think that is wrong. animals are just as good as humans, and shouldnt be used for cosmetics, and like I said before, it's not like they can sell it to them anyway.....

Would you rather have one animal die, or thousands, maybe even millions of humans/animals die because they cant get proper meds? I know what Id pick...the only animal testing I want to shoot people for is tabacco companies, because, humans dont need it, animals dont need it, I think they if they really want to test something like that, then they should test it on themselves, if they die, I really dont care, because tabacco kills millions of people each, what, year? as for cosmetics, it is wrong, but as far as I know, it doesnt involve making the animals eating anything, inhaling anything or anything like that, they just put it on their fur, and it's no worse then if a dog has to get a dye-job to be in a movie or something. and I agree, their skin is different then ours, and the results will be different..and I really dont know what to say about that, but, stop flaming her, everyone is intitled to their own opinions.

anyway, if that post even made sence to you, I'm basically just saying that if the dogs are due to be put down, then they should be put to use...also I dont buy makeup/shampoo/purfume or anything like that, if they test on animals, I always read the bottles very carefully to make sure they dont...anyway..dont get mad..this is supposed to be about expressing your opinions, and nowadays when somebody tries to, they get flamed for it, and that isnt fair...

oh, and when I said that about them being 'put to use' if the animal is being put down because it's sick, then they shouldnt, because that will make it suffer even more, and I dont like that

hmm i dont think animal testing is good, i know people need to test medicines on somthing but im not sure it should be animals because its not that they just get tested on its that the get locked up in cages for who knows how long and have a terrible life

Well Dakotah they do use animals that are to be put down for something, after they are put down they are used for disections, witch help teach people a better understanding of organs. And dont say this is wrong because this is the best thing they can do, it heps us, because they are going to be put down anyway so why not get some use out of it?

The same happenes when a person gives their body to science.

But I dont think Orlando_4_Eva should blame anyone for anything, even being enraged over such a topic that they more than likely will feel strongly about. She obviously knew that people were going to disagree with her, but she obviously WANTED people to give their opinions. Why she gets mad over someone else getting mad, I don't know. But I don't feel sorry for anything or anyone.

I still stick with my opinion however. I mean, after all, we should respect animals for everything. They endure things so much better than us, they don't need to test anything, unlike humans do. Animals just know what's right and what's wrong with their own lives. Humans can't last through anything without technology for fear that they will all die of some kind of sickness. You've got to wonder if that's nature's way of controlling our population, it's not like we need to save every single dull human being on the planet. A strange person is just as important to anyone as a strange animal, so why kill in the process?

Think about it, humans have the power to kill anything, how else are we gonna die besides dying of natural causes? Illness. If we all died of natural causes, there'd be no more room to walk. And there can't be a cure for everything, or else that would be going on today, and humans would be considered to have godlike powers.

Yes, I understand that if a family member got sick, I would want to do anything to save them, but since death is nothing I can control, I'm not going to fight it. If an animal knows it's going to die and it knows it can't do anything about it, what can it do? Nothing. Same with humans, if a human is supposed to die, it's going to die, and no amount of medicine can change that. But that's what people testing animals are basically doing: finding ways to avoid dying. Now how fair is that?

Animals find their own ways to avoid death. Animals don't use humans to see if anything is safe or not. But humans obviously need animals to do that or else we'd all die, right? No. Not all humans die of sickness. So testing medicine years running just to see if it cures an illness (even if it is more than likely going to lead to a dead end), when it has killed many more lives in the process, whether it be by the illness they're trying to cure for humans or by harmfully testing an animal, is not right. In my opinion.

I agree with Cat there. ^^ And illness nature's way to controll the population. If human's weren't meant to die from an illness, there would be none! I will NEVER believe in animal testing, even if I got an illness that it could cure. It's wrong. Always has been, always will be.

I agree compleatly with cat too. and she didn't start enything. I got over upset about this and that's my own fault. Also I look up to cat (like many do) but I don't let her influence my choise (no offence cat)

And tell me: Why sould MY family be more important than the lives of the animals???

In no way, no how is animal testing EVER right. What gave you the horrific idea that it was? catwhohad14tails is absolutly right. Animals have just as much privaliges as as, and if not, more. They were on this earth longer and for that they should be respected. We've already mindlessly slaughtered millions of animals, why are you encouraging everyone to just do is more?
