I'm not so sure, but I will have to say yes, animals do have souls

I actually think that if humans have souls, then all living things have souls (plants, bacteria, etc.)

Suggesting that bacteria and plants have souls is far less believable than animals having souls. Scientifically speaking, bacteria do not even contain a nucleus - a key part of kingdom animalia and kingdom plante. They simply have "strands" of DNA within their cell walls, and no true "brain". They simple do as their DNA instructs them to do, they most likely have no knowledge of existence. Suggesting plants have souls, I suppose, is not quite as far off as asserting that bacteria do, but it's still far enough off to be ridiculous. Plants have no "brain" so to speak, either. They simply respond to stimuli and adapt to their environments, which are characteristics of living things at a primitive level. This is not to say neither is important, though. Plants and bacteria are essential to life as we know it.

As far as my stance goes on whether or not animals have souls. I am a Christian and believe I in God, and do not think animals have souls. I do think it's possible that they have intelligence (if limited) and perhaps even some sort of conscience - but a soul comparable to a human? No.

No in answer to the topic?

Or no in answer to me? If it's this, you ought to formulate a better argument.

No, I don't agree with you, Ghost Unit.

2 bacteria, Protistia, Fungi, Plantae, and Animalia all have souls. Let me explain, I think soul is the way it acts, like if it's good or evil.

Dinoflagella has a evil soul for making dangerous red tides on the beach.

If you're going with that logic, than plants are also evil because they produce oxygen. Oxygen can be just as poisonous as it can be helpful.

That means animals and humans are also evil for excreting feces that contain E. Coli.
Living things are evil because they breathe, adding carbon dioxide to the atmosphere, contributing to global warming.

That mushroom over there wants to kill me? Better hope the right to bear arms isn't revoked.

In all seriousness, you cannot be serious.

First of all, I'm kind of neutral on the whole thing. I more think of us having a spirit than a soul, because while I'm apparently Christian, I don't really believe in any religion and just have my own beliefs on what happened and what will happen. Not that it matters, life is to be lived to it's fullest, not to wonder what will happen afterwards.

If humans have souls, animals do. Just because, there has to be something after we die. Our body is just something to transport us, like a car. You can move the car, make it start and stop and feed it (fuel), it can get sick and whatnot, but it's not really you. You're just moving it. Just like your spirit is just moving your body. Without a spirit, we'd still be able to move and eat and drink and be alive, but we wouldn't be able to live. We wouldn't be able to enjoy, to hate, to love or anything, but we'd still have a brain capable of controlling us that much. But our personality, our feelings would be non-existent. That's ultimately what separates a living creature from a robot/machine. No person can create life, no matter how hard crazy scientists try and no matter how many movies explore it. Humans can have seemingly random things happen, a machine never will. So even that tiny ant, all dutiful to it's queen, has the very slightest will to stop what it is doing. If you take it and put it in a little glass tank will some leaves and bread crumbs, it may be confused, it may be out of it's habitat, but it can still live, because while it may be used to something, it's not programmed to something. It may die eventually, but it's not going to kaplode on the slightest difference.

So all in all, I believe that a will is a spirit. Every animal and insect has the will to live. Ultimately that is every creatures goal. Which makes me wonder, those who commit suicide, do they have a spirit? They've done the one thing that goes against every animal instinct, every human instinct, they've lost the will to live.

But gah, this is getting to my head. Every living thing has a soul or spirit or afterlifegizmo, whatever you'd like to call it. When you die, your not just gone. All it is is that your heart has stopped beating. The body, the car, may be broken, but the spirit isn't. It lives on, it's the one thing that can never die.

Maybe we don't have spirits. Maybe we reborn or somthing like that.

We are like experments set into the world to see what will do the best.
Also if we didn't die the world would overflow. So maybe nothing happens when we die.

Technically, no animal can go to heaven, but in a way all life has a soul.

everyone and every animal that exists have a soul...

and yeah of course all animals and even the same species have different personalities... we all have different personalities.. if we all had the same personality life would be boring and so would animals lol.
