Channing nodded once and finished his breakfast a bit quicker so that he could go and talk to Anna. This must be important. He thought as he walked back up the staircase and toward her room. He entered and shut the door behind her, taking a seat in a chair across from the bed. "What is it that you would like to discuss?" He asked, his beautiful hazel eyes calculating her facial expression. Something happy or exciting. He thought, reading her face with ease. He could always tell when Anna was happy, she'd grin from ear to ear and wouldn't stop. He simply leaned forward in the chair, watching her to see if she'd have a mood change. Channing thought of all the possible subjects that she could pick that would make her smile that much.

Anna smiled even bigger when he came and sat down. "Well since we, ya know, your going to be a father... There's no avoiding that. I just was wondering about how you felt about it. How you feel about being with me..." She said, nervously. She tried to read his face but failed, knowing that she could only read him through his eyes. So she tried to catch his eyes and did, unsure of the signals he was giving off with his gorgeous eyes. "What would you want it to be? A boy or a girl?" She asked happily, trying to seem happy even though she was scared to death of his answer. Either way she'd have to deal with it, hoping that he'd be just as happy as she was. Deep down though she could feel that the storm wasn't the only thing that was going to cause problems.

Channing let out a deep breath and scratched his head. "Honestly Anna, I'm not ready to be a father." He admitted finally. "I don't know the least bit of parenting and I don't know how I'm going to care for you and our baby when I've still got a job to do. I honestly couldn't imagine myself as being a father of anything..." He paused, "I know this is really big for you, and I'm happy that your so enthusiastic about having a child, but for now can we just not dwell on this please?" He said, trying to find a compramise. Channing spoke words from his feelings and his heart, trying not to hurt Anna's feelings too much. He sat back in the chair once more. He didn't mean that he wouldn't be there for her for support or for help if she needed it, he simply meant that he'd not be as devoted as the other fathers may have been. Channing met Anna's eyes and again couldn't break away, trying to read her again.

Anna's smile dropped completely, "W-What?" She asked, trying to see if she was just hearing things. "You don't want to be a father? H-How? Why? Channing, I'm having a baby in a few short months. Don't you wanna be there for the baby, to help me care for him or her when it is born? I cannot believe that you don't want a child." She said, jumping a little too conclusions now. She eyed him, knowing he was telling the truth by how his eyes looked. "Why can we not dwell on this subject? I know you may not want it to be true but I'm having a baby whether you want it or not... And I'll care for it, whether your there or not." She said firmly, mixed emotions brewing up in her. She wanted to have Channing around, but she also refused to give up her child.

Channing sat forward, "Anna that's not what I meant." He said, getting to his feet. "I'll be there for you for support and help, when you need it. But do you know how severe the consequences are for me to just have fallen for you, let alone a child by you? I could be killed Anna, or worse, you could be killed as well." He said, kneeling down in front of her and grabbing her hand. "The only possible way I could be with you is by marriage, but I'm sure that your parents wouldn't wed you to the man that took you from them." He added, looking up into her eyes. Channing didn't know how to put it so that it didn't seem like he was trying to abandon his children or Anna. Everything was just so complicated for him. He sighed a bit and broke the eye contact he was making with her, only gazing down at the floor now. He couldn't believe how bad that was getting blown out of proportion. It was more than he could handle.

Anna's eyes began to water, "So you'll be there to help change a diaper or two but you won't be there to watch your child walk? Or say his first words? Or be there to watch him grow?" A pain shot through her chest. "Your no man, Channing. But a little boy, stuck in a grown man's body." She snapped, getting to her feet. "And if wedding me is the only way to be with me, than make it happen Channing! Or is that another responsibility you'll just abandon?" She asked, tears streaming from her eyes. The only man she had ever loved and he wasn't sure if he even loved her back! Anna walked towards the bedroom door and placed her hand on the golden door knob before turning and looking back at Channing, "You can be there forever, or not there at all. You choose." She said finally before leaving the bedroom, shutting the door behind her. In the hallway she wiped her eyes and stopped crying, taking a deep breath and standing straight. She began the journey towards the stairs.

Channing shook his head, "Anna-" He was cut off when she began talking again. He sat in front of her, only listening to the words she said to him. No, it isn't true. That's not what I meant. He thought, angry with himself and with Anna. It wasn't his fault that he wasn't ready for such a big responsibility at this time. He sighed as Anna stood, standing himself up and gazing down at her. When she told Channing to make a choice, just before she left, he knew he had done something wrong. His heart burned with sadness and anger and it made it a bit harder to breath. "Anna please." He said, just before she shut the door behind herself. Now furious, Channing ran after the door after her, grabbing her by the wrists and pinning her up against a wall. "Anna I want to be there for you, I do. But I can't because of my work, you have to believe me!" He said, standing almost against her. "I do love you, more than you may think, but now just isn't a good time to make any drastic changes. Anna I can't believe how selfish your being, your only thinking of yourself! If something doesn't go your way you act like a child, do some growing up yourself before you call me a little boy." He argued, rage dancing in his eyes.

Anna gasped inwardly as Channing emerged from the bedroom and pinned her against the wall, she could tell he was angry. As he talked her heart grew more and more sad, her facial expression doing the same. She glared up at him, "Take your hands off of me Channing." She ordered. "You will never be aloud to come and see your child! I forbid you to have any contact with me until this whole mess is over with, then maybe I'll listen to your reasons." She argued back, trying to pull her hands free from his grasp. "I've made sacrifices for us Channing, but it seems as though your too simple to make any." She added on, avoiding his eyes now and snatching her wrists away from him finally. She couldn't help but be furious with him now, how dare he grab her that way. She couldn't believe that this was the man who would be the father of her children, she thought lowly of him now.

Channing's heart broke in two as he stood and listened to her. He knew now there was no turning back. "Y-You can't do that Anna, you cannot deny me my right to see my child!" He said, finally feeling a sensation of caring deep in his chest. "I love you Anna, and if I choose to see you and my child than that is what shall happen, you cannot get away from me so easily..." He said, pausing just to take a few breaths. He shook his head as she continued talking, "I've made more sacrafices than you think you bratty Princess!" He argued, glaring at her. This was turning into a bad argument that could actually be fixed with a few small words. All of the sudden a loud booming in the sky rumbled the huge camp, causing a few candles to blow out. When she tried to walk away from him again Channing grabbed her roughly by the arm and snatched her back to him, "Don't walk away from me when I'm talking to you Anna! We're going to get this fixed right now!" He said, not wanting to leave on a bad note.

Anna glared at him, "I can, and I just did. You will not be aloud to see your child unless you make a decision right now." She said, standing in front of him still. She grunted as he called her bratty and refused to listen to anything else. "Your impossible Channing." She argued back, turning away from him to leave. As she began walking Channing grabbed her by the arm and snatched her back to him, making her furious. "Don't you ever, touch me like that again!" She screamed, trying to snatch her arm back. "I will walk away from you if I please Channing, you do not control me! Your nothing but a selfish, childish, insecure child who is in desperate need of direction! No wonder your parents left you!" She screamed, unaware of what she had actually said until it was far too late. She had fury writen in her eyes as well. Why won't he just fix it!? I don't wanna fight with him any longer, so why can't he just say the words I want to hear and fix it!? She thought angrily.

Channing gasped as she brought his parents into the conversation, using his back hand to strike her across the face. He took several deep breaths as he stood over her, reality still not hitting him yet that he had just struck his lover. This couldn't be good at all and he knew there would be no hope for them now. You've really done it this time you idiot. He thought, even angrier with himself. Some of the men had gathered at the stairs and was listening to the two of them argue back and forth, totally shocked when they heard skin on skin contact then silence from Channing. They could tell though by how loud the sound was that it was Channing who had swung out and hit the young lady. The men began whispering among themselves.

Anna shrieked as his hand came crashing on her soft face, causing her to fall against the wall and shrink to the floor. Anna's face began to sting badly, causing tears to swell up and pour down her now red cheek. "You hit me!" She screamed, sitting with her head against the wall. She sobbed harder than she had before, knowing that if Channing had the guts to hit her, he would have no problem hurting his children. "I hate you Channing! I hate you!" She screamed. "How could I ever love a monster like you!?" She screamed again, catching the attention of one of the guards. He walked over to them, glaring at Channing as he knelt beside Anna. "Miss, are you okay?" He said, touching her shoulder. Anna shook her head, the guard helping her gently to her feet. "Come now miss, lets get you come cool water for that nasty print." He said, Anna nodding and following.

Channing sighed as Anna left with one of the guards, walking down the stairs and straight to his office. Channing shut the door and sat at his desk, taking out one of his knives and stabbing the desk multiple times to release anger. He grunted and put his head in his hands, grabbing handfuls of hair and pulling. It hurt bad but he was an idiot so, he felt like he deserved it. "Stupid, stupid, stupid!" He repeated aloud, glaring at his hands. He couldn't believe that he had actually hit the one girl that he truly loved. Channing knew that he would have to make it up to her somehow, to prove that he was actually sorry. I could ask her to marry me but I doubt now that she'll even consider it. He thought and sighed, wanting all of this to end now so that he could get on with his life. I wish I had never even met her. He thought, only making himself sadder.

Anna looked out the window, realizing it had stopped raining and the clouds were finally clear. Today's the day... I'm going to be taken to the Northern Kingdom and surely I'll be sold to some lower class peasant. I can't believe it's been a week without talking to Channing. She thought, sighing as one of the guards came to her bedroom and motioned for her. "Come now Princess, it's time." He said, holding out his hand for her. Anna sighed and nodded, standing and walking over to him. She took his arm as he escorted her outside, to a wooden jail cart. She put up no fight as she climbed in the back and rested her head against the backboard. My life is over. I don't know how much longer I'll cope without that ignorant fool. She thought, meaning Channing. She sighed a bit and shut her eyes, waiting to get to the kingdom.

Channing sighed, gathering all of his documents and placing them in the drawer. He locked them up before walking out to Vixen, who was already tacked up by the other men. He wouldn't be pulling the jail cart with Anna inside, since he was the scouter. Channing put his foot in the sterrup and pulled himself onto Vixen's back, his now long hair falling in his face. It had been a while since Channing got a hair cut and quite frankily he didn't want one now. Though he did shave on a regular basis. Channing looked at his men as they gathered up some barrels of water and a couple dozen bread rolls, needing only that to survive a week's worth of travel. They'd be heading North, back to the Northern Kingdom to ceal Anna's fate. Deep in Channing's heart he didn't want to do this, since he knew what they were planning to do with her when they got there.
