In fact, the problem is not to know if we are fan or just someone who like the movie.
The problem is that, on a fan site, every creations have to be movie related in a way. In the french sire, it starts with the characters. They all have to be movie related ( and strongly ... the least they can do is " have meet Balto one day " . And it can't be an other characters from his familly that is movie related and not him like " her mother know Anui " ). And then, for the others creations on the site, they HAVE to feature a character. So, every characters and creations present characters who are movie related. And plus, they have to make 1 FAN creations for 4 not related. Now, they make a lot of creation about they character and an official one, even if they already make 1/5 fan creations.

BUT, the 1/5 have to be checked by mods, and it take a lot of time. Cause, if you think about it, this rules IS already on the english side and in every site ! it's 1/10 in Balto source I think. But no one read it or apply this ( or maybe some people ).

It's sad to see that most of the members have forgot why they are here =/ And it's cause of this that Balto source is going so wrong. If everybody remind it's a fan site, there would not be unrelated characters ( I only think about the relation with the movie, not about the design ), there would be more creations about the movie and the unrelated stuff would be only minor like it should be. Here it's abusif ! I've saw some members who have no balto related character/fanart/images/fanfiction/contest.

But maybe make some games or contest about it would motive them ? I mean, on the french side, mods try to make many games like " make a creation with officials characters in the theme ' sweet dreams' ". And then, they make fan creations about the theme " sweet dreams " and they got a fan news with all they creations. Sometimes, we make a prize for the one who have made the better creations of have give the most of work on this. This would maybe be difficult to make it on the english side cause of the lot of members, but why not try something like that in the contest part ? Or try on the source who are dead. It's how we keep all our source active an it works =P Members really like those games and in one week, we sometimes get 50 creations for all animation source, nice for a side with only 20-30 active members no ? Plus all they creations who are not about the game ^-^

Maybe another Fan News about this is needed, and let it be no joke. For real this time. Completely on the up and up. If we want all of the Sources, not just Balto and The Lion King, but all of them, to be restored to their true Fan Dedicated Site intent, then this should happen. Of course, maybe I'm just being realistic, or even crazy, but if we are gonna do this, then we should start here and inform the people. And we are doing this for the true fans and reminding the future members of all the Sources that they are not a as I've come to call them 'Free for all.' Way I see it, it should be all Fan related or nothing, and I would rather see the former than the latter spring forth and continue spreading.

Did that last bit make any sense?

Ok, I'm all for this, but unless we have the "Separate Character Source" idea made official, there will probably be a lot of angry children...oy...not ready for that. I guess we could say the idea is in the works, though.

That's a good idea. If this is gonna happen, it needs to be... well, put up. Not as a joke of course, because this matter is no joke. In all seriousness.
