I never said anything about the Balto franchise/universe in itself. I was talking about adding more "heavier" themes into it, ones you wouldn't normally find in a kids' movie. It's just that things like violence generally come along with heavier plots.

I know exactly what you were talking about. You were saying that adding more of those...things...to a Balto anime movie would be something you'd like to see, and that it would be a chance to "expand it".

Frankly, I don't want to imagine the sort of "fans" it would attract with more negative, heavier and "mature" themes. There are enough odd characters among the fandom already.

Seriously, let it go. Balto and anime wouldn't work even if we wanted it to. What would it even be about? See?...

Um first off, calm your freaking face.

YOU sound very condescending. Don't say to calm down to me in a rude tone again.
I just see absolutely no point to even be conversing about this idea when we've already established that there would be no more Balto Projects. PERIOD. Seriously. What would it even be about!?

That's enough, Alkan. Cat may have sounded harsh in words, but she's right. I'm not going to lock this as it's a decent topic with good conversation, where as your Balto 4 started nothing but arguments.

Right now you're going off topic and baiting an argument, and I'm saying stop now before you get a warning ban. Any more off topic posts will simply be deleted. Now stay on topic. That goes for everyone.

sorry... please, forgive me.
Does anyone have an idea or plot for what the 'Bal-anime' would be about?

Are you meaning anime as in Japanese, or do you mean a spin off tv series.

The topic is about whether they should make an anime-style TV series or another movie/sequel in anime style.
I've posted here already, but they shouldn't.

A. This exact question has already been asked here, and you should have checked first before spamming yet another topic: http://www.animationsource.org/board/post1422621.html#p1422621

B. I think it's pretty darned obvious what someone means when they type the word "anime": http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/anime

Read through the topic first. Then consider whether or not to post. And for the love of God, review the rules of this site.

I have no problem with a good anime remake of Balto, I just wouldn't approve it if it'd be garbage.

Balto in an anime style? Lolno. Just no. I can see that being a disaster for the Balto community, and a huge disgrace to the actual story and original film. Not to mention there's just not a whole lot to go off of for an anime series unless you stray way far from the true story. I've read many times about how it can relate to Wolf's Rain, but besides the fact that it has to do with wolves being misunderstood, there's really nothing else alike. Plus Wolf's Rain actually /works/ as an anime story-wise because they can go with new adventures in several towns, meeting several villains, several supporting characters, and even a new main character smack dab in the middle. Balto doesn't have that with only 2 towns in the movie's story and a huuge wilderness in between. You can't make a series off of that, you just can't. Plus you'd have to make it this funky anime wolf-like style, which just sounds freaking terrible to be honest.

Big no with me.

Hasn't anyone read my post (page four)? Wolf's Rain isn't the only canine anime. And just because it's plot was basically one big journey (and hey isn't that kind of the plot for the first Balto film?? ...actually for ALL of them?), doesn't mean that Balto's has to be. Seriously! Check out this anime for example: http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Massugu_ni_Ikou It's the most Balto like show I've seen in anime (and it even has a husky for the Baltoboos). All anime is is a cartoon written and animated by the Japanese. Just as Natti stated earlier (and apparently twice):
Nattikat8 wrote:

That doesn't mean it has to have violence or a redundant plot.

You will note that I took out, in quoting her post, segments pertaining to Wolf's Rain. I never saw Wolf's Rain (beyond watching clips on YouTube when stuff like this comes up...just to inform myself), and never even had so much as a miniscule interest in it or any other wolfy wolfy anime. To me, MOST anime is garbage. Utter, unmitigated garbage. Whether that show, or Ganja Dem-smokin' Weed, mahn, or anything else. As I have said time and again, the only anime I ever felt was worth watching were the original Speed Racer series, Star Blazers, and Battle of the Planets (all these being English-dub titles for "Mach Go Go Go", "Uchu Senkan Yamato" and "Kakagu Ninjatai Gatchaman", respectively).

But that's besides the point for me. From what I HAVE seen of Japanese anime, regardless of the subject of any particular anime cartoon, I think it would be utterly lousy to develop the Balto movies, and most especially some retelling of the true story, in that format. Absolutely lousy.

As to that series you hyperlinked above, I'm not seeing how it is so very Balto-like. Granted, I have not seen the show, but I checked out a clip or two on YouTube, and I'm not seeing the connection. The description on (*shiverrrr*) "Wikifur" says that this series "follows the adventures of Mametarou, a mixed-breed dog, and his girlfriend, Hanoko, a Kishu, in Japan with their owners and other dogs". Very loose connection at best.
