Heather's struggle didn't affect Kyle, he was numbed with alcohol. The drunk chuckled at her fruitless attempts to get air, and tightened his grip around her neck tighter again.

"Kyle! Stop it!" Angus ordered. Atticus's eyes narrowed and he fired the gun, making Angus flinch slightly. The next second Kyle howled with pain and dropped his gun. Atticus had shot him in the hand with amazingly precise accuracy. But he still choked Heather, Atticus was ready though. He quickly lunged and hit Kyle in the chin with a strong uppercut, which made the drunk stumble back, and gave Atticus the chance to pull Heather out of his reach.

Then Angus slammed the drunk into the wall and began to roughly escort him out of the bar. "Keep yer' sorry a** outta me bar!" Angus snarled shoving him out the door then slamming it and locking it.

Heather coughed when she was released and collapsed on the floor. She held her throat gingerly and praised the air that rushed for her lungs. Her throat felt raw, and her chest heaved. She hadn’t felt very scared, in fact she felt slightly excited. But she had been ignorant to try and stop that guy, and she was now extremely embarrassed.

“Oh my, I’m such an idiot!” She scolded herself.

"Hey, you're not an Idiot..." Atticus said softly, kneeling down next to her.

Heather gulped for more air and put her hand to her forehead.

"I should have never gotten envolved." She said simply, before standing and dusting herself off. "I feel like a complete retard." She said.

“Yeah, and I ended up in a hostage situation!” She grumbled, looking at her feet in dismay.

"Well... ya know... in most stories the damsel in distress, after she is rescued, tells her hero her name?" he asked, he deeply wanted to know her real name.

Heather found herself blushing, blushing, when Atticus said that. How on earth cld she even think of blushing when she was so embarrased. She took a deep breath, calming herself and then looked at him staight in the eyes.

"Heather." She said simply.

He shook his head, "Naw, I'm Fine..." he replied looking at the clock "Ten til' three..." he said turning and looking back at Heather.

"Well, it's been a very exciting night. But I gotta' get goin'." Heather said, a smile itching to her face as she looked at Atticus.

"Um, will I get to see you again, Heather?" he asked, Atticus hoped this wouldn't be his last meeting with this girl.

Heather thought for a moment, then finally nodded.

"Yeah sure." She grabbed his hand and whipped out her pen that was always tucked away in her pocket. In purple marker she wrote her phone number down. "There you go, call me sometime." She said.
