Cody chuckled and said to Ashton "You people are so full of yourselves." He turned back to the girl and said "Please make him go away with your powers so we can talk. A vampire has no business in our matters. A wolf does but not a vampire. Wolves won't turn on their own unless they have to. Vampires do it all of the time so don't trust him for a second, miss. That would be a mistake but you can trust me. I give you my word. And I have a book that belonged to my witch friend and it's yours if you want it. You could learn a lot of things from it. After all, she is the most powerful witch my wolf have ever known. And he's very old, around 2000 years but I'm only 19 so I don't know as much as my wolf so I trust him with my life and so should you."

"I barely know you," Rissa said. "And I don't even know if I can trust you. Or the people you trust." Her gaze went from the vampire to the werewolf. "And...I suppose he can stay if he wants to. I...I don't think he'll harm me. Not right now, anyway," she added, fingering her star. While it still retained some heat, it was nowhere near the pervious temperature.

Ooc:// We should probably wait for Rose now...Bree really needs to interact with them.

Ashton was starting to get angry. And when he was angry, it wasn't pleasant. His eyes began to burn a blood red color, switching immediately in tune with his response to the werewolf, "I was human once, too, you know!" He nearly snarled. He hated how this wolf was trying to alienate him. It was bad enough he had exposed him, but now this stupid dog was trying to get him hurt too?

He was weak. Sending a witch to do a job he could have fully accomplished but didn't because he was scared. Ashton thought he could almost smell it. He hissed, "If you're so intent on getting me out of here, come and do it yourself. Witch girl over here isn't your protector. And I'm almost sure she won't do your dirty work because you happened to know another witch." His face was clearly full of hurt, pain, and anger. Slowly, little by little, Ashton managed to put the pain inside again. It still hurt immensely, but he didn't let that show. Not now, at least.

His voice still showed the anger, though, and some slight pain that he couldn't force back. "And how are you so sure he isn't as dangerous as me?" He directed towards the girls. "He uses the facts that you barely know me to his advantage when, really... we could be one and the same." He glared triumphantly, but grimly at the werewolf. This guy was really starting to piss him off.

And he was going to let is be known that he wasn't trustworthy either. Or at least not as much as he said he was. He was looking at the werewolf now with questioning eyes. "Vampires aren't the only ones that kill people."

OOC: Yeah... I think so too. I actually wrote this post before you posted yours (Windancer). I guess I took too long though X3

"I'm not sure, you moron! That's what I'm saying!" Rissa replied heatedly. It probably wasn't a good idea to aggravate him further, but sometimes her temper seemed uncontrollable. Something in his eyes sparked her sympathy. Despite the crimson color they had shifted to, she could see hurt in them. She understood hurt.

"I know vampires aren't the only ones who murder," she added, in a softer voice. "They aren't the only ones that hurt." A bit of sadness entered her eyes at that, as her buried memories started to flood back again. She struggled to push them away. "As I said, you can stay. I think you aren't that different from him. From...me." A deep breath was required before Rissa continued.

"Maybe you've made bad choices but...I don't think you chose to be what you are. Not on purpose. I understand what it's like to be hurt, okay? And while I still don't exactly trust either of you...can we at least start over? Without all of the anger?"

Ooc:// Wow, you guys got far without me. The reason for the delay in my posting was my laptop crashed. Anyways, its fine now and better than ever actually! (except I lost everything, but what can I do now?)

Just one thing, Pure_one, I don't know what Cody means when he says his wolf is 2000 years old but he is only 19. Thats not really possible no matter how I interpret it. Remember, we are playing by the lore posted on the first page. Perhaps you should re-read it.

Bic:// At first, Bree just stood there, glancing between each person as they took they turn talking about things that didn't make sense to her. For her, it seemed like they were speaking another language, one where witch and werewolf and vampire meant things other than the english definition. As these three teenagers rose in anger, Bree still didn't move an inch from where she was standing, mostly from Rissa's tight grip on her wrist.

Bree took a step back from the yelling voice, slowly removing her arm from Rissa's hand. In her mind, she knew that nothing of what they said could be true. But then that meant that the three of them could all be crazy. Perhaps Bree was the one losing her mind and was only imagining these things that they were saying. None of these options was any better than the rest.

A shocked gasp escaped Bree's silent mouth as the blond haired boy's eyes suddenly turned red. Within the next for seconds, Bree decided that she needed to get away from these people. Either she had gone completely mental and was now hallucinating or the talk before was truth. Either way, Bree no longer felt safe.

Bree broke away from the group and dashed down the sidewalk, forgetting which way would lead her back home and sprinting in the opposite direction, her red hair flying behind her as she ran faster than she ever imagined she could go. Panic seeped into her veins and fueled her feet to move faster and faster and faster until she collapsed to her knees. Looking around her, Bree figured out that her legs had carried her to a tiny park she used to play in as a kid. She crawled to the fountain and splashed her hot, red face with the cool water. The park was deserted besides her, its popularity drindled down to nothing from ten years ago. As Bree leaned against the fountain, her panting breaths slowed, but her heart still raced from the run and from the panic.

Griffin sighed at male's question, still standing to the side so the two loners could come in. "Of course you are welcome here," he said with confidence though no happiness. "We're just a little cramp at the moment," he added.

Griffin finally took the time to take in the appearnce of the two loners. The male stood with confidence and he radiated cockiness and pride. He might be more trouble then it was worth, but his foster parents, not to mention alphas, were not ones to turn down a loner. Actually, the dark-haired werewolf reminded Griffin of himself in some ways. It was strange, but Griffin noticed that he probably had the same confident air around him as this loner did.

Now, the female was a different case. Mirrored her eyes was a wounded animal, ready to snap at anyone who came within a foot of her. Her dark hair, thought fairly straight, curled around her head as if she had just woken up from a long sleep. Her head bowed low, but her bright eyes stared up at Griffin, and their color reminded him of the moon. Her demeaner spelt out trouble, and Griffin already saw her picking fights with the others in the back of his mind.

Still, Griffin couldn't turn them down. Despite how unhappy he was, a part of him felt guilty for even thinking of turning them out to the streets. There was a reason he always helped his foster parents with the house and acted as the second-in-command.

"There's just one thing that would have to be adjusted," he admitted to the duo. "You see, there is only one room left in the house. Of course, that would be no trouble if the two of you didn't mind sharing." Griffin suggested the idea in the hopes that maybe the two of them were together. Usually that would only cause drama in the house, but with one room left, Griffin was willing to deal with that. Even though the two loners showed no sign of affection, Griffin thought maybe they were just on of those odd couple who did not like public displays of affection.

Luna scoffed at this idea. "You have got to be joking," she said in a light tone that suggested anything but happiness with this proposal. "I'll take the dog house out back over sleeping even remotely close to this bag of fleas."

She didn't really mean to insult Zac in any way, but insulting others was natural to Luna and it sometimes just slipped out unknowingly to her. Actually, she had taken a liking to Zac, which was definately out of the norml for her.

"If thats the only option I've got, well, it's been nice meeting you and all, Griffin, but I got a streey corner to get back to." Of course, Luna didn't mean the implication 'street corner' had, but it was out of her mouth before she could think about it. When her words reached her ears, it hit her that this might give Griffin and Zac the wrong idea about her living conditions, but she was much to proud to correct herself now.

"Only a few days," Matt answered Laika, smiling at her wonder at the room. She seemed fascinated with all the things that Sonya had left behind. "I believe she's trying it out, and may decide to stay or come back. But she defiantely will visist," he added. "You'll get your chance to met her."

Matt paused, a question on the tip of his tongue, but he was afraid that it would be too personal for Laika. He wanted to know what her past was like and way she ended up here. How she even heard of this foster home. But Matt had experience from every new-comer here that not all of them were open to discuss the past.

Curiousity taking the better of him, Matt finally asked, "So, how'd you end up at Silver House?"

"Wait, Bree!" Rissa called after her. She got no response, and turned to the two males angrily. "See what you did? You just chased her off. Nice going."

Laika cheeks flushed a self-conscious shade of pink. "Well, my parents died in a fire when I was still pretty young. I survived, but I got this." She lifted her sleeve, showing a long, ridged scar. "I kind of moved from place to place after that. I stayed at a foster home for a while, but...I guess I didn't feel like a fit in anywhere, you know? Then I just...ended up here."

Zac looked at Luna sincerely hurt by her comment. Why did she snap like that? He wondered. He started to think and imagine her past. What it may have been like for her. But soon, his own memories started becoming those daydreams. He pushed it away with regret. Maybe it would have been better if he had indeed stayed home. Or... maybe...

It didn't matter. He turned his head away from her and sighed. "I guess I'll take it then." He turned to Luna and shook his head with a bit of sadness and defeat. He had never really felt so... well there wasn't really a word for it. Hurt? After all, he had gotten to know Luna through the small time window they had. And now, just when it seemed he had gotten through to her and that they had become genuine friends, it seemed as if she were pushing him away.

Or as if the show was a whole act. He decided to just let her go. He'd been a loner all his life right? Well... a lone wolf anyways. If he left Luna now, it was of her own choice. He had tried his best to get her to come with him, but in the end none of his attempts had proved ultimately successful. Oh well. No turning back now that he had bothered this kind kid. He seemed troubled at first, but now since Griffin's confession about the cramped quarters, he would say something soon for sure as an apology.

He stepped inside the doorway, looking at Griffin intently. His eyes wandered through the house briefly before turning to him and saying, "Listen, I'm sorry if I am or become a bother. I'll try and keep out of your way and as quiet as possible." He said, before getting in deeper, leaving Luna behind with some slight guilt, but in in the end, resolving to his previous conclusions.

This was her choice. Not his.

Ashton hissed ever so silently at necklace's insult (incredibly, he still didn't know her name...). But, when Rissa continued, he heard understanding in her voice. She wanted badly to trust them both, it seemed. Or maybe it was Ashton's mind playing a trick on him. He decided to go for the first option. He wasn't going to call himself crazy on his own terms.

But then... something odd happened. He felt sympathy in her voice. It was just gently placed there, as if afraid to make itself known but still trying anyways. A faint flashlight in a disarray of blinding sun.

And Ashton felt his body betray him by flinching right on the spot. He wasn't used to this kindness. And his body rejected it. He was used to pain, suffering, torment. This wasn't how it operated. His own mind wanted to take her hidden sympathy and use it to better himself, but the other half, and his body, were clearly struggling in the fight.

And they pretty much won. ...Almost. Ashton looked up at her, just in time to see the other girl running like a maniac out of the scene. She'll be back, he supposed. Though, she had been way to quiet through the whole thing. Ashton started to get curious ever so slightly. Though most of his focus remained on Rissa.

"I appreciate the offer. Though, I have some things to do. And..." His eyes turned into uncertain and hesitant slits, which could have reminded one of a confused child, as he searched the ground for the rest of his words. None of which would pop up and scream 'Say me!'. So, he had to improvise with new ones. "I'll be back." He finally said, dangerous and seemingly cunning once more. But something was off about his voice now... It didn't seem as leveled. It was ever so shaky.

Just as Rissa turned back to the two and yelled about what they 'did', he ran with inhuman speed past her and after the human girl. When he finally reached the spot where her scent seemed strongest, he stopped immediately. He saw her by a fountain in the middle of a park, and carefully strode towards her.

In retrospect, going after and near a human girl with a still bleeding wound wasn't such a great idea. But then again, Ashton didn't feel too great right now. He felt... not thirsty, but... unstable. As if a single act of kindness might tear him apart for better or for worse. His mind was fighting with itself, trying desperately to feel the little bit of niceness he was just shown. The other half trying to destroy any remnants of the memory. So far, neither was winning. He was going into turmoil.

"Are you... alright?" His voice was shaky. And it was evident. "Please don't run. I won't... hurt you."

Bree stared at the ground in shock, her mind finally realizing that none of what she thought she heard could be true. She wasn't sure what had happened, but it definately had nothing to do with vampires or witches or werewolves. Her heart was only beginning to slow to normal speed again when a semi-familiar voice reached her ears. Her head snapped up to see the blonde boy from earlier.

She wondered if he had followed her even though she had been sure that there had been no one there everytime she glanced over her shoulder. And if he hadn't been following her, how did he know where to find her and how did he get there so fast? Bree decided too many weird things had been happening today for her to dwell on these questions, so she just stood up and made a movement to run away again.

Then, as if reading her mind, the boy asked her not to, almost pleading for her to stay. Bree debated taking off any way, but a part of her mind has already accepted that it was useless for her to keep turning her back on this situation. Eventually it would catch up to her.

With a sigh, Bree sat down on the concete stone of the fountain, gently touching the surface of the water with her fingertip. "So who are you?" she asked, not meeting the boy's eyes. As soon as the question left her lips, Bree realized that she didn't really want to know who this boy was because that could lead to the earlier conversation. She just wanted one simple answer. "I mean, what's your name?" she corrected herself.

Luna stopped immediately as Zac took the room, seeming so willing to let her go. Luna hadn't admitted it to herself, but when she had turned away, she had hoped that Zac would say something, anything, to convince her to stay at the house. The fact that Zac just walked into the house and left her on the sidewalk caused a sting inside her chest that she recognized as that age old disappointment and betrayal that she had become accostumed to.

She had become a loner for a reason and that reason was the hope that she would never trust anyone again. Trust only ever lead to disappointment. No one ever kept their promises. But what hurt the most was that Zac never made any sort of promise to stay with her anything, but Luna had still trusted him in some way. She had let her emotions get the better of her again, so it should had been no surprise that she this way again.

Without fully comprehending that she had made the decision, Luna rushed back up the porch steps and flung open the door that had been slowly closing. As she finally realized she had barged into the house, Luna glanced at Zac and Griffin before announcing, "You know, I'm kind of sick of sleeping on a dumpter every night. I suppose even just having a couch to sleep on would be better than the streets."

Griffin stared at Luna as she barged in, interrupting what he had just been about to say to Zac. "Um, yeah. That's fine. You can stay," he said, not sure what else he was supposed to say to her.

"Well, like I was saying," Griffin staled, his memory searching his mind for what he had been trying to say but coming up empty. "We, uh, don't have very many rules here. Just stay out of trouble and no causing fights with the others. And, of course, don't do anything that would cause suspision from the humans. I think thats all."

He lead them through the living room and gestured to the stair. "I'll show you to the available room," he explained, though not sure how these sleeping arragements were going to work out. Luna sleeping on the couch probably wasn't the best idea, she maybe one of the wolves would be willing to share their bed room. Griffin didn't know who would be willing to share a room with this particular she-wolf, but it was obvious she wasn't too thrilled with the idea of sharing with Zac.

"The room is on the third floor. It can get kind of confusing in this house, so afterwards I can take you on a small tour," Griffin suggested in the same way he did to all the other refugees that he introduced to the foster house.

Matt gasped a little at long scar tracing along Laika's arm. "Wow, you've been through a lot," Matt stated bluntly, not one to soften the truth or lie in any way. "So why did you decide to come here of all places?" he asked her.

Laika's cheeks flushed a more bright shade of red, and she hurriedly fixed her sleeve so it covered the scar. "I was just kind of wandering the streets. I happened to stumble across this place, and decided to give it a chance."

Ashton eventually had to force himself to turn around. He wouldn't, couldn't, handle the smell for much longer. At least if he wasn't directly smelling the blood, it may not be as tempting. Even though at the current moment, his insides were ripping inside for not just the blood, but to be a good person for once...

He was trying to remember when he had last been shown kindness. And the answer was: before he had become a vampire. He needed to try. At least try. He was mentally scolding himself. He was a vampire! What in the heck was he thinking? But... he needed to take this... if he didn't, it'd be his own fault for the next hundred years if he was angry and alone.

He turned back to her once he thought the wound had dried a bit and answered, "I'm Ashton." He looked over her features and memorized her face, her skin, her... oh no. The wound wasn't fully dry yet. He knew he was staring at it from the dryness of his mouth and the irritation in his throat. And so, he decided to switch his view to her eyes.

He chuckled ever so quietly, with just the slightest hint of sadness. As he did, he had looked down, but now as he turned to see her again, he said, "You three were right not to trust me." He paused, recalling the fact that this girl had tried to run almost three times before he had asked her not to. She had eventually thought better of it, it seemed.

"I usually am not the best person to be around. Though... for some reason... that witch girl offered for me to stay..." He trailed off, clearly noting his confusion by the tone of voice he gave. "I didn't think anyone could or would want to trust me... I've never given reason to..." He was beginning to get off track. He was forgetting where he truly was. He was floating out of reality little by little.

When he noticed, he came back. "Uh, sorry." He slightly stammered. "I didn't realize I was rambling..." he looked to his side and sighed. "If you want to run, go ahead. I won't bother you anymore. The wolf would probably be your best company." He paused, trying to give a certain feeling to his words. He always chose and placed his words carefully... when he was 100% in reality. "But perhaps you could at least give me your name?"

Zac turned just in time to see Luna burst through the door. He gave a large grin as she started to walk beside them, and after Griffin was finished talking, he nodded. "Sounds good."

To Luna, he gave her an expression through his eyes. So as not to have ears on his words. They were all werewolves, after all. As hard as it was to get used to the fact. The message basically sent, I'm really glad you changed your mind.

Then he changed it to say, And don't worry about the bed situation. I got that covered.

Matt chuckled slightly at Laika's words since this was probably the last place she should be giving a chance, but he was glad she found this place. She seemed like a really cool person and Matt really wanted to be a friend for her. "Well, I'm glad you came here," he said, nonchalently and thoughtfully at the same time.

Griffin nodded to Zac and lead the two of them up two flights of stairs and into the hallway of the third floor. He motioned to the door on the right and explained it lead out to the balcony while the two doors on the left were other bedrooms. He didn't bother with names in order to no confuse the new wolves. They would meet everyone eventaully.

Griffin made two lefts then told them the bathroom room was the door to the right. Finally turning the corner, they came to a dead-end hall with two doors on the left wall. Griffin walked passed the first one and opened the other door, walking into the nearly empty room.

"This room technically belongs to Will, another wolf who lives here, but he stays at the academy, so this place is all yours," Griffin explained as he grabbed sheets and pillows from the closet and tossed them in the bed. Other than the bed, there was only one peice of furniture: a smooth black desk with matching chair. Since Will never stayed in his room, there were no peices of his left behind.

Griffin turned to Zac and Luna, still not sure how they were going to make this single room situation work. "Um, I'll let you get settled or whatever. I'll be down in the living room if you need anything." He started over the door, but just beofre he left, he added, "I'll show you the rest of the house later." Then, Griffin turned back down the hallway and headed downstairs to the living room.

When Luna glanced at Zac when she had first come back, she was a bit unsettled by his wide smile. It was almost like he had wanted her t change her mind. She rolled her eyes at this thought, and her mind reminded her that they still had the bedroom dilhema. Something in Zac's look, though, told Luna that he had it figured out. As she followed Griffin up to the bedroom, Luna wondered what Zac's plan was.

After being lead to the bedroom and then being left alone, Luna finally turned to Zac with a raised eyebrow and a questioning look. "So, I'm assuming you've got some sort of idea to solve this problem. Mind sharing?" she asked with a tilt of her head.

Bree stared at the ground, not daring to look up at Ashton as he talked. If she really was dilusional, she didn't want to feed her insanity. She carefully soaked her fingers in the fountain water and dabbed the water to her scratch, washing away the blood. While she did this, she listened intently to everything Ashton said, though she tried not to be caught off guard when he mentioned "the wolf." Bree still didn't belief any of it.

But what Ashton did say really touched her, and Bree almost felt sorry for him and guilty that she was being so suspicious and untrusting. Maybe she should give this stange new boy a chance, since he did seem at least somewhat nice.

"I'm not going to run away again," she said, glancing up at him for only a second before wiping away the water and blood from her arm with the hem of her shorts. "My name is Bridget. "But everyone just calls me Bree. Even strangers who I've hardly even met," she added with a teasing smirk, trying to lighten the conversation.

Ashton mentally cursed when the girl wiped the blood all over her shorts. Dry as it would be soon enough, it was still a bad temptation. "You may want to-" He started, before stopping himself to hear the girl continue. Her last comment, he grinned at. You could tell a laugh was on the way, and he let it out freely. "You know, Bree, you don't seem half bad," he said, and kept a smile on his face.

And for once, it was genuine. There was nothing fake, nothing secretive, nothing hidden about it. It was real this time.

Zac paused for a moment just to annoy Luna a bit and then laughed. "Well," he glanced up at the ceiling and then back to her. "I was thinking you could take the bed and I could take the corner." He gestured his eyes towards the floor.

Zac actually didn't mind. He had always been a gentlemen when he was human. As a werewolf, his manners hadn't really changed much even despite his loneliness and disconnection with people for a while. And he had been sleeping in alleys and wherever he could for such a long time, he was pretty much used to lying on hard surfaces.

Ooc:// Sorry I haven't replied in so long, lots of things were going on and I didn't have the time to read through the posts. But I promise to be more active now that school is out (; I fixed the broken links on my bio as well.

Bic:// Regina stayed out of the way of Laika as the commotion went on in the other room. "Chris, you should know I hate that soup. How do you keep forgetting?" She did not answer Griffin's question and turned off the burner. She put her noodles in a soup bowl and sat down at the table. She saw something red flash in the corner of her eye and looked out the window onto the back porch but saw nothing. Shrugging, she ate her Ramen and carried the bowl to the sink. After she washed her dishes and placed them in the washer, she walked out into the sun room and curled up on her favorite armchair.

Sonya reached into her pocket and pulled out her cellphone. She usually had to make calls outside of the dorm room because she couldn't get signal in there. She leaned against the wall and dialed Griffin's phone number. Holding the phone to her ear, she waited for him to pick up. "If nothings going on at the house, we can stop by and visit."

"I guess...I am to?" Laika replied softly. The statement went up at the end, phrased almost like a question. She offered a small smile to Matt, whom she found she was actually enjoying being with so far.

Bree and Ashton had been talking among themselves for quite a bit. Rissa glanced at them, fingering her necklace. Surprisingly, she enjoyed Ashton's company so far, despite her fears. But since Bree's arm was bleeding, and he was a vampire...well, Rissa felt the urge to check up one the unlikely pair.

She walked quickly, impatiently brushing a loose strand of dark red hair behind her ear. "Everything okay?" she asked once she had reached them, the question mainly directed at Bree.
