Kate nearly cried, seeing him hurt so badly. She looked at his ribs and touched them softly to see if how badly they were hurt.
Aurora nodded. "Why did they pick on him? He never hurts or bothers anyone..."
Blaze did a belly flop and yelpped sharply. "Ow...that hurt..." he said. "Though to be honest, she was merciful."
Winston looked to Tony. "So Tony, Garth doing well?"

Humphrey's eyes flew open, but he thumped his chest abd adopting a tuck accent. "Strong. Strong like bull." he said, hitting too low and thumping a rip. He screamed abd fell to the ground. He shook, groaning.
Lilly looked sad. "It's complicated. But some wolves don't like Himphrey because he Kate's mate and he's an Omega."
"She could've gotten Eve." said Yana, floating to the bank. She shook herself off, frowning at her reflection. "Ugh! Now my fur will be useless until it's dry!"
Tony blinked. "Garth? He's doing great. And he's happy. As long ashes happy I'll keep trying to get used to the idea." he said.

Kate whined. "Humphrey, I know you don't want to worry me, but please, tell me how your ribs feel," she said. "Does it feel like something is broken?"
"She could've pulled an Eve," said Blaze, climbing out and shaking off. "I think we should do as she says..."
Aurora whined. "Why do they care? Omegas are really nice..."
Winston nodded, watching Garth get his own meal. "I know, it took some getting used to Kate mating Humphrey, but we did," he said. "Then again, it helps we've known Humphrey sense he was a little pup."

Humphrey sighed and rubbed his face lightly. The bleeding had finally stopped, but his nose was throbbing. "No, nothing broken." he told Kate, wincing every now and again.
Lilly shook her head, looking glum. "Like I said, it's complicated."
Yana nodded, and a smile crept over her face. She chuckled. "Yeah... We'll lay off Humphrey. But she only said to stay away from her mate: who else needs a good talking to?" she asked, shaking her fur out wildly, the wet fur flopping over her eyes in wavy straggles.
Tony nodded. "Not that your daughter isn't wonderful-she's a peach-," he said, glancing at Eve's serious face. "But it's hard for an old dog to learn new tricks."

Kate laid down next to him, trying to do soemthing to help. "Then they're bruised...I'm sorry, I shouldn't have let you go off alone..." she said, tears in her eyes.
Aurora blinked. "Ok...Kate will make them sorry, right?"
Blaze smiled sadistically. "That's right, but no physicality with her, don't want to risk their mother finiding out."
"I know," said Winston. "It took awhile to get used to Humphrey period, I know that. He's so unorthadox, but he's a good leader, always was, just before it was for the Omegas."

"H-Hey..." Humphrey stuttered, nudging her head lightly. "Please don't, or I'm a failure at my job." he said, chucklng lightly. "Please don't cry, Kate."
Lilly nodded solemnly. "Oh yes. She is going to fix them good."
"I want no hair on her head missed to tip them off!" Yana growled, ears pinned back. "Jst be intimidating, and tell her not to say a word." she said, her fangs gleaming in the light. She looked at herself in the water. "Even a wreck I still look great."
Toby nodded, thinking. "But a pack also needs someone caring. And Lilly dits it. Your daughters seen to be exact opposites."

Kate looked him in the eyes and nodded, managing to calm down. "Sorry...just it hurts to see you like this...I've never felt the way I do about you about anyone..." she said. "I love you Humphrey...I don't want anything to happen to you..."
Aurora nodded. "And if she doesn't, your momma will, right?"
Winston nodded with a chuckle. "Yeah, Kate's confident and is more buisness, Lilly is shy and funloving," he said. "Kate's compassionate too...she's just never really had someone bring that out in her like Humphrey does, even when they were kids."
Blaze nodded. "She'll be easier though, she's a shy little chicken."

Humphrey nodded, nuzzling her with a smile. "I love you too Kate, and I don't want to see you sad." he said, licking the tear stains away. "Besides; my job is to redIrect anger, too. And it usually happens to be me they redirect it to. I'd rather have four broken legs than see someone else get hurt."
"I don't want it to get that far." said Lilly, giggling.
Tobias nodded. "Yea: her momma's scary when she's mad." he said, looking nervous.
Yana nodded, shaking herself off again. "Very right; but that blasted mate of hers rarely leaves her side."

Kate couldn't help chuckling a little. "You do your best to keep things lighthearted..." she muttered. "Come on, let's get you to one of the pack healers," she said, licking his cheek. "Those ribs need checked out."
Garth came over and licked Lilly's cheek. "How are you doing, Lilly?"
Aurora nodded. "I hope those stupid bullies get what's coming to them..." she said. "No one should be mean..."
Blaze nodded. "We might have wanted to be more patiant dealing with that mongral."

Humphrey nodded and braced his legs, beginning to stand up. "Alright, I'll go- but I won't like it!" he said, sounding like an angry pup. He smiled.
Lilly frowned, leaning close. "Kate had to take care of a pair of bullies out. They were bothering Humphrey." she said. "How did you eat, Garth?"
Tobias nodded, stamping a paw. "Yea, especially when you're mean to someone who wasn't doing anything."
Yana nodded. "We got much too angry. We need to guard it, let them have it in small degrees."

Kate helpped him support himself. "I take it your ribs must've taken most of the damage, huh?"
Garth frowned. "What?" he asked. "Who would bully Humphrey? He's the nicest wolf in the entire pack..."
Aurora nodded. "I hope Mr. Humphrey is ok though, if they hurt him they're in BIG trouble!"
Blaze nodded. "Correct," he said. "We will work this out."

Humphrey nodded, before giving a light shrug. "It happens when you get slammed into a rock. I'd like to meet the guy who gets flung into a rock abd stands up unscathed." he said, leaning against Kate lightly.
Lilly shrugged. "I don't know, the pups came to tell Kate, I don't know f they know." she said, leaning against him.
Tobias nodded, huffing lightly. "I have a bad feeling..."
Yana nodded, sitting down. "At least we just don't eat tonight." she said, looking at herself. "I don't mind not eating, but if I lose too mch weight I'll look sick."
