well, no. I mean, why would i hate people who hate balto? They have their opinons as i have mine

I don't mind the people who say they've either never heard of it or don't really care for it. What annoys me are the ones who just completely diss the movie and anything remotely related to it just for the fun of it without regard for fans like me. Sure, everyone has opinions, but at least be respectful of opinions that differ from yours. Am I right?

Forgive me if I wax philosophical for a moment, but that depends on what you mean by "respect." If "respect" means to acknowledge as valid, then I don't see any reasonable way of respecting those whose opinion is that it's okay to, as you said,


Now I can respect those who dislike Balto; they have a right to dislike it. But I personally often find their reasons for disliking it to be sorely lacking in respectability. When it gets to a case like what you describe, the word "respect" is pretty much meaningless on both sides. And asking them for respect, as I sadly know all too well from experience, is often much like the proverb about throwing pearls before swine: "They will trample them and then turn and attack you."

DT, I meant the ones who decide not to like me just because I happen to like Balto. Which has happened to me, unfortunately.

I've never had anyone do that to me over Balto, though I've suffered some derision in the past for liking Pokemon or Ninja Turtles (albeit from people who were already hostile). One thing I have come across is people who go out of their way to soil good, wholesome material. I won't say what I've come across, just that it's part of why I'm very choosy about any image searches I do nowadays. And there's a fan wiki (not Balto) that I'm still at work cleaning up.

When people tell me, they've never heard of the movie I just go "Dude, you're missing out!"

As for people that flat out say the movie sucks, I don't go off on a ranting spree, telling them why the movie is awesome and why they're wrong. I just roll my eyes and say "Whatever, you're choice." and move on. So in retrospect, no it doesn't make me angry.

I don't know why I should get angry about it anyway. It all comes down to personal preference in the end, so why should I care if someone hates a movie I like? You're thoughts on a movie are what matter, not what others say about it.

It does make me a bit outraged to see people talk about Toy Story but never mention Balto. If they saw at least the 1st movie, I'm sure theyd change their minds.

i dislike it when people dislike Balto especcially since its a true story about man's best friend saving all the children of nome

Its one of those movies that deserves respect, Unfortunately there is no respect to be found after Toy Story took over.

I think it's stupid for people to get upset because they don't like Balto. So no, it doesn't upset me. Not everyone likes the same things.
