Aaron nodded. Even though the ashes didn't really do much harm to him, being he was a fire breathing dragon and he practically breathed the stuff 24/7, he knew they had to get out of there fast or else his new friends would die of suffocation. He looked up at the hills. "I think I know the way out," he said as he went over to the front of the group. Now that he was fully healed, he was ready to go and felt like he could take on anything.

Kasha had just watched him lying limp in her arms, seeming close to death at times. Now he had just had fire put to his wound, stitched them up, yet he stood swiftly...even leading the group. At that point, Kasha would've happily let someone else lead, preferring to stay near the back and try to hide her grimaces; burns were the worst kind of pain to the young anthro.
Needless to say, she was a bit surprised to see him walk without even stumbling a little.

Lyllii hesitantly held back, stalling like a frightened deer. Fire was her greatest fear; shouldn't they be heading away from it? When she saw Kasha hang back as well, she felt slightly braver; brave enough to fall in third in line, anyways. "Come on, Kasha; it can't be all that bad. Besides, I'll burn before you will!" she called, pasting a thin smile of bravado onto her sooty face, but even she didn't believe her act.
She clutched her staff tightly in both hands as she used it to poke the suspicious-looking areas; she jumped back when she saw steam arousing from underneath an unturned rock, eyes widened, and balked behind the panther anthro again.

Kasha could tell Lylli was only putting on a brave face, but didn't acknowlegde the transparency in the act. She did, however, give a small grin when Lylli jumped, startled by the smoke, and slunk in behind her.
"No reason to be afraid of the fire. We'll put you out before you become extra-crispy." She was sincere in the promise of putting the nymph out, but there was a teasing note to the words "extra-crispy". Her small, half-smile grew into one that was almost fully formed, and her amber eyes flashed in partially hidden amusement.

Katha, who was walking in front with Aaron, looked behind her at Lylli and Kasha."Little nymph" she said adressing Lylli. Katha was now walking backwards. ~~~ OOC:writers block...sorry.

Lyllii bared a strained smile. "I've actually been 'extra crispy' before, but thanks, Kasha, Katha." She moved a foot forward, soon finding herself inbetween the two anthros. "Right then; let's get this over with!" A real grin gradually replaced the fascade; these were good people. They wouldn't let her singe a hair if there was another way.
The company began their decent from the steep hill down a ravine that lead to what, Lyllii asumed, used to be the mayor's personal vineyard. Her eyes widened; instead of heading away from the flames, the deadly toungues engulfed overhead the rock walls, and in some areas lava completely submerged the old servants path. To her relief, they climbed onto higher ground once again. A cave's mouth loomed up ahead.

OOC: I'm going to go ahead and make bios for the Master and Apprentice for when we need to use them. Also, we need a "water" to join the party later on (using water magic), preferably male. If no one wants to fill that spot, I have a character that I could put in.
[The Master and Apprentice are to be generally "shared" characters, but I have the final say before something too drastic is to be posted]
Name: "Master"; real name unknown Race: Elf Position: orcestraiter of war Weapon: water magic History: Long served under the emperor as a lesser king; unsatisfied by his power, and lacking the magical power to cleanly overthrow the emperor, he decided to wage the 100 Years War in an attempt to later conquer the vast kingdom as smaller and more manageable states verses one mammoth empire ruled by the emperor's titanic magic (he has a tremendus supply himself, but the emperer is still much stronger one-on-one) Personality: to be revealed in RP, but generally quite nasty Weaknesses: ...still working on that, but Lyllii seems to be a "key"
Name: "Apprentice"; real name unknown Race: Shade Position: orcestraiter of war Weapon: fire magic History: faithful servent to the Master and valuable enough to keep around. Also Lyllii's worst nightmare. Formally a human, but became a shade after the Master ressarected him after he was slayed by Lyllii in self defence. Personality: to be revealed in RP Weaknesses: Water, Master, and possibly Lyllii and the gang

I would play a water, but could it be a female? I already have an idea...I'm just not good at playing males.

sure. I'll probably add my male character anyways, simply to balance out the female ratio, though I can't wait to read her bio.

Name: Maiya Pronunciation: (may-uh) Nickname: Mai Gender: Female Age: 16-17 Species: Elf Personality: Maiya is trusting and friendly, which is her big fault. While she doesn't have any qualms about injuring enemies, she can't kill them, and hates to see her friends in pain. She uses her water for a type of healing, though that takes alot more energy than normal water. She doesn't think of herself as brave, but she is loyal, and will stand by her friends no matter what. She would willingly sacrifice herself for others, and is willing to "go-with-the-flow"...most of the time. She can be stubborn sometimes, but only when she believes in what she says. She isn't afraid to speak her mind, and prefers to find the bright side of things, though she can get a bit emotional at times, as well as impatient. History: Maiya was born in a small village on the coast. She grew up surrounded by water....until fair rained upon the land. Both of her parents were killed, and she was left to fend for herself, barely 6 years old. Needless to sya, she didn't manage long, and stumbled upon a family of wood nymphs. They cared for her until she eventually left, longing for adventure. She travels often, moving from place to place. She was in the village that Kasha, Lylli, and the rest are in at the moment, and runs across them there. Description: The elf has a regal look, and has light blue eyes. She has dark hair. Weakness: Any close range attacks. She prefers to go on the defense. Weapons/Skills: She mainly uses a recurve bow and arrows, along with her main weapon; water magic. She does have a small dagger for close range combat, but rarely uses them.

Accepted! xD
Now for my new character...
Name: Sespyn (seh-spin) Race: Water nymph Age: 17-18 Gender: Male Personality: Somewhat quiet, though very stubborn. He is often mistaken as cold, though he's really a big softy, if you can crack his shell. He's not exactly the most loyal person, though he's no traitor; he just simply doesn't see the point in assisting strangers and has a vague scense of comradship, though he'd fight to the death for those he truly cares about. He tends to hold a somewhat pessamistic outlook History: born of sea-spray nearly twenty years ago, though he dwelled along the rivers mostly. Views humans with the same contempt that Lyllii does, though it's not as strong. This is because he had more contact with humans, both good and bad (but mostly bad), and never had a close friendship; most of his friends were children, but they never lasted long because of the predajust against nymphs of all sorts of being "wild savages born of witchcraft" Appearance: Ultra-long wavy black-brown hair, eyes vary from sea green, blue, and gray depending on the light, alabaster skin. Muscular, but not buff, build, and around 5'9" in height. Wears blue-gray sleaveless tunic with charcoal-gray breaches and white sash. Boots are made from grey sealskin. Weapon: Water magic, staff simular to Lyllii's (typical nymph weapon, sorta like arrows to elves) Weaknesses: extreme temperatures (though not nessisarily fire), deserts, often can't destinguish potential allies from foes and often crushes potential relationships Extras: His skin and hair often appear to be damp. Not sweaty or slimy, but more like he just finished swimming (He won't enter until after they escape the fire)

Ooc:// For the sake of keeping the different PoV's distinguished, I'm going to start doing text colors. This is really for my benefit...I have the tendency to get confused rather easily...XDD
-----------
Maiya's blue eyes reflected the long tongues of flame. The fire seemed to be everywhere; spread over the area like some intensely warm blanket. She panted lightly, her skin glistening with perspiration. While she did know water magic, she felt she could escape this fire; there wouldn't be a need to draw upon her reserve of energy. She would need that to find her way out.
The elf hastily stepped back as a building creaked, threatening to topple over. She had a suspicion of who might be responsible; the ash raining down from the sky was a dead give-away. But she couldn't be sure without proof. She winced as she heard a crash from far away; another building must've fallen, it's foundations weakened by the fire and heat.
Maiya coughed lightly, the smoke invading the once clean air. While her lungs were tougher than a normal humans', they weren't made to breathe smoke, a fact made even more prominent by her knowledge in water magic. Deciding she couldn't make it out of this crumbling building without help, she formed a small spray of water, shooting from her outstretched fingers. While it was hard to find any water within the air - she could only manipulate what was there - it existed, a fact she was grateful for.
Coughing harder, Maiya finally made it outside. The smoke wasn't as thick here, due to the winds that swept through the town. She moved quickly away from the scene, reflexively clenching her hands into fists and back into a normal position over and over again.
"Do you hear something?" Kasha asked, stopping suddenly. While they hade made it out of the ravine, fire still raged around them. A cave entrance gaped over them, seeming to be the only exit. "It sounds like someone else made it out. And is heading this way," she added, grabbing her staff in an instinctive motion.
Maiya heard voices nearby, and headed towards them. She was still new to this town; she traveled alot. Because of this, she had no idea where the exit was, or whether it still existed. So it was obvious that she felt a connection with the unexpected group; they were both fleeing from the bruning wreckage surrounding them. As the figures came into view - one nymph, one anthro, one human, and one elf - she skidded to a halt, her dark hair flying. She dipped her head in greeting, trying to stifle a cough that was roused in her chest.
Kasha's voice cut through the air like a sharp knife; "Who are you?" It wasn't in her nature to be polite or diplomatic, as was obvious in her tone and body language.
"I am Maiya," the elf greeted, her blue eyes gazing at the odd group in curiousity. "If you don't mind me asking, who are you?"
--------------
Ooc:// I referred to Aaron as "human" because that is what he would appear to be to an outsider. And since its from Maiya's point of view, she only sees a human. Just to clarify.

Katha looked over at the two. She got the sudden urge to snarl, but forced herself not to. Katha, who usually loved others, didnt trust this new girl. "What do ya want lass?" she said, trying her hardest not to use a bad tone. Katha beleived in giving people chances, no matter how bad the feeling was.

Lyllii cast a suspicious glance towards Maiya. "I call myself Lyllii, though now isn't exactly the time for introductions. You're more than welcome to escape with us, but you'd better keep up," she replied curtly before dashing behind Katha once again. "Aaron!" she shouted at the were-dragon's human back. "Are we almost there? This entire gully will be a pool of molten fire pretty soon!" Her voice echoed eerily off the rock walls; small avalanches errupted along the edges before plopping into the already knee-deep lava below them.
